Meh. Decent win I guess but it’s not like we can aspire to any better under Wenger. Overall it’s all just so depressing and hopeless.

Emotionally in check gooner

You really are starting to annoy me with your negativity.. every time I see you in here its always a rant against the club or wenger.. look I know you hate manager I realize that.. maybe hate is a bit too much maybe you just dont like him.. I know theres alot of you out there. Honestly I want a new manager as well but you coming on here with your jabs at the manager n players alike like a spoilt entitled brat aint going to make things better. Save the negativity when we lose or something I dont mind… Read more »

Ex-Priest Tobin can say what he wants. You don’t need to resort to name calling. I disagree with him too but he is allowed to say this – there is nothing remotely offensive about what he said. Just deal with it. People disagree, it happens.

GraeB

Agreed, although that first half was so depressing.

Diarra

Blame the board if you are unhappy. Wenger probably should probably have resigned but he is still giving 100% and loves the club, which can’t be said about the board. I think we are actually playing better than last season bar maybe 2 matches so wouldn’t complain too much.

GFSammy

When you’re the 1st to comment and that’s what you have to say, kindly fuck off!

ronaldo

WHY, we are ALL entitled to make a comment, if you don’t like it then you fuck off

ronaldo

you are so right, and to think we have another season of this, all we can hope for is if wenger packs it in at the end of the season

Diarra

“Another season of this” – we are 5th in the table right in the mix. Won’t probably win the league but are performing well for the funds the board makes available for the manager

ronaldo

FITH, lol more like eighth

ronaldo

thumbing me down wont change things, EIGHTH

ronaldo

sorry, but that’s the way it is

Olii

10/10 for the descriptions on this one.

Sean

We don’t pay you for half-arsed player ratings blogs! Don’t know about anyone else, but I’ll be writing to my local mp about this first thing on Monday morning!

Toni

Must be the drinks.

A different George

You think?

Kevlarbe

That’s actually kind of true. It 8s worth some cosideration. Take your time, I barely have time to cut my toenails, let alone write a blog every morning

David C

I loved the Curb Your Enthusiasm reference!

Content Gooner

I’m guessing you was watching the boxing as not a lot of effort in my favourite post you do! 1/10 for effort in player rating today! Still love you though!

Rectum_Spectrum

If you access the site from within the EU the descriptions are better.

Vrgt

I ordered bath towels with the face of Kolasinac in a soviet-esque propaganda poster. All hail The Partisan!

So how do I start my own blog? This job seems easy

Enlightening

Saint Carthola

You really need to get pictures.

Fletcher

It seems our beloved blog is stuck in infinite loop.

Faisal Narrage

Much like the club, then.

justnumb

surprise to see Cech topping the defence with a 7.5, the “big save” was down more to the swansea player hitting the ball at him i thought, and he made a poor decision for thar swansea goal…a 6 at most for me

Flummoxed

I mean with stuff like that it’s so up in the air you can’t call it. Was it good positioning, or a poor shot, or great reactions? Best to chalk it up to a potential goal that wasn’t. Good on you czech

Flummoxed

*cech

ronaldo

cech new nothing about that shot as he turned his back on it, it was an unlucky miss by swansea

Kartik Iyer

Calm down man…on other days we would have lost such a match…we won …we are grinding out results ..slowly as we gather a run of wins our form will get better and surely each win is better than a loss…no matter the target it’s only teams that can grind out a result that get somewhere…also there’s nothing we can really do about the management so enjoy whatever you can …laugh off the rest..it’s only football

ronaldo

oh yes it was

CechMate

Of all the players, I’m really worried about Bellerin! He was a good talent who could become a great player but he is looking like he would become only a good enough player. There’s a reason for a lot of goals leaking from that side of our defence – of course, Nacho’s form is responsible for it too. But he seems to have lost pace and his positioning is bad, he was standing in no man’s land for the first goal, I expected him to do better being the fastest man in our team. His crossing is pretty poor and… Read more »

santori

I didn’t think he was half as bad as many like to think. Guilty of not closing down Clucas for the goal but hey, it happened very quickly and he wasn’t expecting Koscielny to completely fumble. One poor pass in danger area second half but otherwise yes, needs to sharpen up on delivery. Still got into dangerous areas several times, rpovided one very good opportunity and shaved the cross bar himself. Again this is one of those things where a player’s faults are amplified because of an inherent bias of opinion. OTOH take the point that he could well do… Read more »

Pedro

It’s his haircut mate .. since then, everything became worse

Jimbo Jones

Bellerin’s form is definitely a worry and has been for a while, he has been surprisingly the one who has suffered most since switching to a back five. He has worked a lot on his physique and looks much bulkier now but he seems to have lost some of his his agility and those lung busting runs that were a trait of his are nowhere near as frequent. The other thing to bear in mind is he really hasn’t had much competition since breaking into the team (the ox aside but that wasn’t for very long) and he is stil… Read more »

Diarra

Agree with everything you write. Though I feel Debuchy is more suited to a RB role than RWB as he hasn’t got the speed and stamina to run up and down the wing. A reinforcement coming in in January maybe?

PeteyB

I do wonder how big an issue lack of competition is becoming for him. I certainly agree that he’s not pressing on at the rate he should be.

Mpls

I think it’s more a matter of not getting a rest- sure Debuchy has come in a couple times now in the cup and that’s good, but before that we were running Bellerin into the ground. There’s a lot of wind sprints at wingback and that takes a toll.

ritabhash

Don’t want to say it but seems like those Barca links are the elephant in the room. He has said it a couple of times now how he misses the sun and his family in Spain(including in a rapid fire with Nacho on the official Youtube channel. Was one of the rare moments I’ve seen him with his guard down, but he rather quickly added that he has got kinda used to the weather in England. But for me atleast, I still think those Barca links have turned his head. His progress seems to have kinda halted this past season… Read more »

adgonner

The advanced wing back position doesn’t suit him. At the right back position, his overlapping runs were more effective as he used to get a head start on the defender. Now he is already so advanced that the head start advantage is not as effective. Thats my take.

ronaldo

he,s got one eye on barca

ronaldo

oh yes he has

santori

Cech – Could have done better again for their goal but hey, he also blocked Ayew’s attempt which Per was at fault for. Bellerin – deserves a higher rating. He was decent going forward and almost poached a goal. Some lapses at the back but so did Koscielny and Per. Again a bit of bias against I suspect. Kolasinac was immense. Particularly second half. What a steal/steel considering how much our director of footy paid for him. Granit is a bit of a conundrum. He has his lapses in an area which truly is critical but to be fair to… Read more »

There goalkeepers that make 12 saves in a match to save their team, why can’t cech do same?

Vongola

Welsh Jesus scores when he wants

Up Th\'Arse

He is a very Personal Welsh Jesus

Merlin\'s Panini

Although it’s getting a little annoying to see us keep falling behind it’s good to see us showing the mentality to come back. We may need to carry that into the big games coming up if we’re to garner anything from them.
It seems having europa league football is helping in keeping the first team’s legs fresh for the league but we really need to take advantage of that in big games from now on if we’re to mount any kind of challenge.

Rectum_Spectrum

We just about beat a team at home that offered almost nothing of an attacking threat for most of the game, and even defended really poorly at times also, as did we. And they could have nicked a draw too. In november we play city and spurs. I’d imagine all of this weighs on the mind of a man who has to come up with this shit week in week out.

Martin

Before yesterday Swansea had only conceded 1 goal away from home including a draw at Spurs. We have broken a record of winning 13 consecutive matches at the Emirates so we deserve a bit more credit.

Rectum_Spectrum

Just offering my theory on the indifferent player ratings.

nacho man

what absolute shite analysis
thanks blogs
horse shite

Gary Baldy

Good result but surely Cech needed to stick or twist for the for their goal, not hesitate for a split second as he came out to the player. That said, he learned his lesson and was first to most other through balls even outside of the box . . . and no messing around with it, either. A boot straight through the ball. Ramsey, misplaced passes ( not the only offender, of course ) but one glaring example in each half, on the right and the left respectively . . . great goal in finding himself in the right space… Read more »

Am I the only one to have seen Per being upended in our own penalty box infront of the ref who waived play on…a better player would have scored from it but it wasn’t Per”s fault…contrary to what John Motson thinks…

mbssve

He was very slow in dealing with the ball.

Up Th\'Arse

Looked like Per upended his own self…
Have never seen him move so fast, though.

Niall Shannon

One day we’ll get a boring 0-0 where everyone gets a 5/6 out of 10 and a description of “he played”

Up Th\'Arse

“was on the pitch”

Kunal Sood

Pretty disappointed with the decriptions this time for player ratinngs, im an avid reader of this blog. Hope to see ‘actual’ descriptions in future.

Up Th\'Arse

If this team had some -any- solidity in midfield n defence it’d be a team worth calling a team.
Anything less than 0-7 at the Etihad is gonna be a bonus.

Kinda hoping Kol’s pain in the hip is from extracting DNA to clone a whole bunch of him.

ronaldo

blogs, how come you rate the players more than the fans, I think you might be a bit out of touch as to what the fans think

ColdGunner

Please put a little more effort into the ratings arseblog. This was just lazy.

Adam

You really phoned it in on the ratings, eh blogs?
