Arsenal beat Huddersfield 1-0 this afternoon to finish the season with a win, and to take three points on Arsene Wenger’s 1235th game in charge of the Gunners.
The manager was in good form afterwards, joking about the planes that flew overhead, and reflecting on his time as boss of the club.

Sorry to buck the trend guys, but I am more than happy to see the back of AW and for good reasons. Its more about what he said only a few days ago, and I quote :: “the squad doesn’t need much, because there’s huge potential in there… it only needs 2 or 3 additions to compete for the championship…”. I watched him on MOTD and I thought he looked sad with a deeper kind of forced tone to his voice as if he was holding it together. It was quite an emotional thing to see.
Goodbye and thank you, Wenger. We shall never see your like again!
What an absolute gentleman he is – just oozes class. Never ruffled, always positive, completely well-spoken and erudite. Merci Arsene.
Well I don’t know about the rest of you man but that certainly brought tears to my eye.
I wonder if we will ever see another manager anywhere ever last so long at a club. And how other managers would have faired in a similar position.
Wouldn’t it have been badass if at the end of the presser, Wenger’s final words were ‘ thank you all..’ Wenger out’ and a mic drop
