Arsenal will take on Brentford at the Emirates in the 3rd round of the Carabao Cup.
Apparently, we’ve not faced the Bees in a competitive fixture since a Division One fixture in 1947…reports from the time suggest it was hard for the fans to tell the teams apart because it was played in black and white.
The Bees recently signed Josh Dasilva from us and have former Gunner Nico Yennaris in their midfield. An Emirates reunion will no doubt be fun for those two.
The match will be played in the week commencing September 24.
Emery should go all out in Europa, our best bet to get into champions league
We don’t know who’s going to be in the knockout stages yet… Regarding getting 4th we look like we’ll improve over the season whereas man u look like they might have a shocker, Chelsea don’t look that good and spurs as spurs so fingers crossed.

It’s all well and good relying on winning a cup competition to get there but we don’t know yet who’s dropping from the champions league- I suspect it’ll be a touch lot this year
Holly molly, Nico Yenaris! I expected big things from him, now he’s just buzzing around.
Can’t wait to see Oxford do to City what Wigan did to them last year.
A decent draw. I always liked Bradford for their name, and Brentford sounds even better. Also, we haven’t played them in recent decades
Last time we played Brentford was in ‘The Arsenal Stadium Mystery” wasn’t it? No Good’ll come of it I tell ya…..
QualityPost ?
Not again! That’s twice in 70 years now. Getting boring.
We need to be wary of brentford and not underrate them #WeAreTheArsenal
We played them in a training ground friendly during pre-season. We lost 2-1. Let’s hope Unai got a good look at them and spotted some weakness cos now we owe them a fustigation!!!….. fustigation is s perfectly cromulent word. Look it up people
Speaking of, this season I want is to win by more than six goals in one premier league game.
Should be good – hopefully nkeitah gets a start!
Oh wow! Nico Yennaris! I haven’t heard that name in a real real long time!
The last time I heard of him was when he plucked the ball out of the sky in a Zidane-esque manner during a north london derby. After that, he went into oblivion
Ahh yes good ole Yennaris who grew up an arsenal fan, was a mascot for us against Coventry as a 7 year old in 2000, then played for us for the last time against Coventry in the carling cup in 2012. Funny how things go round.
And I’m not making this up!
Eddie Nketiah is looking VERY strong.
Takes no prisoners, Torreira could not get by him in training clip on the Arsenal main site and he took out Sokratis even.
Would love to him, Nelson, Leno and Elneny in this game (I know you are not very keen on Elneny, but I think he’s one of those players whose improvements rely on synergy with team mates built on game time)
Would love seeing Nico our old mascot & Josh again!
