Arsenal have been drawn at home against Blackpool in the fourth round of the Carabao Cup.
The League One side will visit the Emirates on either the 30th or 31st October, sandwiched between a trip to Crystal Palace and a home showdown with Liverpool.
We’ve not faced the Tangerines since they were in the Premier League back in 2010/11.
On those occasions, we won 6-0 at the Emirates and then 3-1 at Bloomfield Lane; a match notable because we had to bring Jens Lehmann out of retirement to play in goal.
Full draw
AFC Bournemouth v Norwich City
Arsenal v Blackpool
Burton Albion v Nottingham Forest
Chelsea v Derby County
Leicester City v Everton/Southampton
Manchester City v Fulham
Middlesbrough v Crystal Palace
West Ham v Tottenham Hotspur
Where is Manchester United in the draw?
Oh….
Wheres Liverpool? 😀
Lampard might go ahead and kill all his past
Chelsea vs Derby, Frank Lampard to do it against his old squad?
Hope we see some of the kids again for Arsenal
Only 10 PL teams left, which will be reduced to 7 at the most after the next round with some of them drawn against each other. Fingeres crossed we are one of the remaining teams – could be a nice change for an early trophy
That’ll do nicely.
No disrespect, but it gives us a chance to have an eye on the ‘Pool game.
It would be nice if West Ham can take out Spurs, preferably with Lucas Perez scoring.
I prefer Arsenal do it in the final.
Always handy in a cup final to be playing a team who are pretty much guaranteed to fuck up spectacularly when success beckons.
Really hope we play a few more kids in this one. Liverpool will have a full week’s rest before the game, and I’m sure a side of u23s with the additions of the likes of Lichtsteiner, Elneny, Martinez & Welbeck should be enough to see us get past Blackpool.
I have not followed it–is Blackpool still in constant crisis about its ownership?
