Arsenal Women will play Slavia Praha in the last 16 of the Champions League next month. The Gunners defeated Fiorentina in the round of 32 6-0 on aggregate.
The reward for Joe Montemurro’s Gunners is a tie against Slavia- the Gunners avoided tied against the likes of Lyon, Wolfsburg, Barcelona and Bayern Munich.Arsenal were unseeded due to their five year absence from the competition and were guaranteed a tough tie.
The first leg will be played at Meadow Park on 16th or 17th October, with the return in Prague on 30th or 31st. It seals a tough October in which Arsenal will also play Chelsea and Manchester City in the WSL.

Nice! Plus ManCity have to play Atletico away three days after our game in WSL.
As they are “seeded” I’m guessing Mank?ty will actually be at home after they play us whereas we’ll have fly out to Prague almost as soon as we get back from Manchester. At least the following weekend it will be a relatively less intense Conti Cup group game.
arsenal.com shows that 30/31 we have home game against Prague, so I assumed the opposite for city.
Couldn’t have asked for a better draw….. Haha! Coyg
Potential bullet dodge there but no complaints.
Lyon and Wolfsburg both have easy draws, on paper at least, so don’t feel any guilt over taking on one of the “lesser” clubs. They still have to be beaten though so let’s hope for full squad availability and that September’s success carries on into October with Champions League progression and a couple of 6 point games in WSL.
So the champions league can still be associated with the Arsenal
A good draw. We’ll be able to make the most of our strong midfield using squad rotation with the tough games against Chelsea and Man City also in October.
Unless the club’s come to an arrangement themselves the draw is 1st leg in Prague, 2nd in Borehamwood. Tough call for the girls as away to Chelski only 3 or 4 days before 1st leg. Hoping that everyone comes back unscathed from internationals.
