Arsene Wenger has confirmed that he will do his utmost to keep hold of star midfield duo Cesc Fabregas and Samir Nasri.
While Fabregas has once again found himself the subject of intense speculation linking him with a move to Barcelona, Sami Nasri’s contract situation has seen the likes of Manchester City and Manchester United both touted as possible suitors.
Speaking to Arsenal.com, the coach confirmed:
“Our position is always the same, we want to keep Cesc and I will fight as hard as I can to keep him.
“Samir Nasri is exactly the same. We will do everything we can to keep him.”
Wenger also confirmed that due to a small muscular problem, Fabregas would not be joining his teammates on the forthcoming tour of Asia.
Small muscular problem? Reeks of bullshit to me
Agreed, very much so !
Be fair gentlemen. Cesc has never feigned an injury.
Damaged heart string due to Barca overtures plucking them.
At last. Nice one Arsene, you tell them! Tell both JamU and “Less Than A Club” Barca to take their greedy envious eyes off our carefully nurtured players. We trusted in their ability, we entrusted our club to their ability. They are Arsenal players, under contract.
Never mind he has had hamstring problems all year and missed the run in. It’s all made up.
[…] While many names have been linked with a move to the Emirates, much of the backpage headlines in recent weeks have seen current Arsenal squad members tipped for exits. While Gael Clichy has already completed a deal with Manchester City, Wenger stressed that he would not be willing to give up Samir Nasri and Cesc Fabregas without a fight. For more, click here. […]
What’s this “fight hard to keep him” crap. If we want him to stay then we simply tell him he’s staying; 4 year contract and all that. Painful as it is to say this, but take a leaf out of Sp*rs’ book and state to all and sundry that we don’t wnat to sell our best players so he’s not going, end of. Stand up and show some balls if you really mean it. But if, as I’m sure we all accept, Cesc is gonna be off, stop feeding us this bull; we’re big boys and girls and can take… Read more »
I don’t accept that ‘Cesc is gonna be off’, not for a minute, and certainly not for the paltry sum on offer. I’m pretty sure Cesc must regard it as a fairly insulting offer too. I doubt even Barca man that he is – and I don’t doubt his love for his home club – even he really believes that playing for ‘Less than a Club’ is its own reward, however highly they all think of themselves. The usual way of demonstrating appreciation for a world class professional footballer is with transfer fees and wages, and Barka are coming up… Read more »
interview was utterly underwhelming, the gibbs part is rubbish, he is no where near ready to be our first choice left back, the nasri and cesc part as discusssed is BS, they both want to leave and “fighting” doesn’t solve the problem that they both want to leave, the one or two new players only ws horrible to hear and he even threw in the vermalen is like a new signing line.
anyone expecting anything different from last year and all those before are smoking something. so much for a busy summer.
all ver dpressing but not surprising
Nari wants to win trophy’s, not just the money, and cesc fagregas wants to go cos he also want to win trophy’s, the fans want to see trophy’s if arsenal was winning some kind of trophy’s .i feel nasri and cesc situation will not have come to this stage. In january we had a very good chance, a game in hand and 2 points behind united ,drew games we should have won, lost games we should have drawn,..people might argue differently ,although things would have ben better if we had bought a defender in january transfer window of last season. Now… Read more »
Heart breaking. We built a team around a player, the player becomes a superstar and no longer sees us as a team to fulfil his dream. We need to stop this trend. If Gibbs is good enough he should fight for his shirt not selling a player to make room for him to develop…this is the philosophy that put us in this situation. We are now a laughing stock of other teams. Even our rivals can see the crack and rubbing it in. ManU, ManCity & Chelsea asking to sign our good players? This must be a joke.
Dats true bro,is a big time joke.Am so ashamed to be an Arsenal fan.
The same old story every year. Why not add Samba or Cahill? God have mercy ! !
I dont know how the fuck Nasri could possiably stay now – the level of disrespect he’s showing the club and the fans is out-of-order.
