Arsenal have confirmed that SPL side Ross County have signed defender Harry Clarke on loan for the upcoming season.
The 20-year-old centre-back heads north of the border to gain more experience of senior football having spent the last campaign with League Two Oldham.
Clarke, who played for the first team against Hibernian in a recent friendly, is the fourth youngster from the Gunners academy to be loaned out this season.
Daniel Ballard, Matt Smith and Nikolaj Moller have already sealed moves in recent weeks and more are expected to follow.
Best of luck to him in the SPL.
While we may not be as efficient when it comes to departures from the senior squad, it’s most welcome seeing us doing great in loaning out our youth to more challenging and, hopefully, more developing environments.
Good luck in Scotland, Harry! I’m sure the experiences of top division football will be good.
County is my local club, If I had to put them in an English league they would do alright in…. I’d probably say League 1…. thats their level.
I have seen a game broadcast from Ross county and would describe it as a rustic setting. Would love for this COVID madness to end and visit Scotland again and catch some games. Watched one at sterling once.
A deal between my old local club and Arsenal doesn’t happen every day.
I hope you enjoy Dingwall, Harry. If you would like some local knowledge, get yourself down the Cockburns for some award winning haggis, or go check out the sheep auctions at Highlands largest livestock mart.
Yay!!! That’s my local team… finally get see an Arsenal player play without having to travel the length and breadth of the country!
Aye aye gadgie coff.
Can’t help but think we’ll see a flurry of loans soon. We have a massively bloated squad.
