It looks as though Arsenal’s pursuit of M’Baye Niang could end in disappointment with French radio station RMC claiming that AC Milan are ready to pay Caen €200,000 to take the teenager on loan for a season.
The 17-year-old, who featured regularly in Ligue 1 last term, is understood to have been bowled over by the chance to feed Gennaro Gattuso in his cage when he visited Milan last week and appears satisfied with the terms on offer, which apparently include an option for the Rossoneri to buy him next summer for €4 million.
Arsenal took Niang on trial for a week earlier in the summer, however, despite being impressed Arsene Wenger seemingly couldn’t be arsed to offer the necessary asking price.
Arseblog News doesn’t really find the situation surprising; it’s a fair whack to shell out on someone so young and given we’ve got the likes of Joel Campbell and Benik Afobe out on loan and Chamakh, Park, Arshavin and Bendtner still on the books, adding another squad striker is hardly a priority.
