Ryo set for Wigan loan

It’s looking increasingly likely that Ryo Miyaichi will spend the upcoming season on loan with Wigan Athletic as he looks to garner further Premier League experience away from the Emirates.

The teenage winger spent five months on loan at Bolton Wanderers at the beginning of the year, but despite renewed interest from Owen Coyle it is Roberto Martinez who has won the right to sign the exciting prospect.

In addition to media speculation about the player’s future, Wigan keeper Ali Al-Habsi also let slip on his Twitter account that the Japanese international would be returning to the North-West to play for the Latics:

“I am happy that our team, Wigan, has acquired Japanese Arsenal player Ryo on loan for a season who was also loaned out to Bolton. It’ll be nice to have a fellow Asian with me in the team,” confirmed the Omani at the weekend.

Miyaichi is currently on international duty, but is tipped to make his debut for Wigan against Chelsea on Sunday afternoon.

Given Wigan’s willingness to play attractive football, and their propensity for using nippy wingers (remember how many times Moses skinned Sagna last season?), the move should be a good one for the youngster.

Arseblog News wishes him all the best.

Good news. A great prospect who’ll receive Premier League experience while playing at a club that play good football.

THEREISBEARCUM

I thought Ryo was going to play at Wigan though.

Fatcunt

Oh great WAN……..

Bobby Pires

This is good news, Martinez is a good coach and Wigans playing style is similar to ours so this young lad knows whats in store.
Good move, Arsene.

arshavin

Le Bob!

eleanor

No surprises there.

Wigan are going to have a hard time of it this season, but Martinez is a good manager (as opposed to, say, Fat Sam who palpably isn’t.).

And around half-a-season of cold, wet, miserable games should toughen young Ryo up. It’ll be fun seeing how well he progresses under duress.

Goonerssss!

So we are indirectly empowering chelsea…..eh?
Good luck mr. loan, hopefully this is the last, I would like to see more of him only this time in an arsenal shirt.
*PACE…..see that?

iSayed

If by ’empowering Chelsea’ you mean that Ryo is being signed to play in Moses’ position, then yes I guess this paves the way for Moses to move to the Chavs.

Dick Swiveller

Indeed, ’empowering’ them to ruin another promising young English player’s career, not the best of things to do but it works out well for us and it’s none of our business really.

Dr Baptiste

Doesn’t Moses play on the left as he likes to cut in. Ryo will most likely play on the right instead of Conor Sammon who is going to Derby

Nico

Connor Sammon is a target man striker.

Dr Baptiste

I thought last season that Wigan played 4-3-3 with Di Santo up front with Moses and Sammon in the wide places but I may well be wrong.

Ali Al-Habsi

Ryo’s gonna make a.cole shit in his pants if hes starting on the right flank.

Sol4real

Moses is a bench player so don’t worry about him going to Chelsea, what we are doing is getting our next season hot new signing ready to explode for us with much needed experience to give podolski a run for his money

Bill

If Moses leaves Wigan this loan will be brilliant for him.

Goonads

‘Nippy’ wingers, eh..?

THEREISBEARCUM

You’ll start an international incident…

Merlin's Panini

fool.

Merlin's Panini

why am i getting thumbed down for being against a racist comment? Is this place full of John Terrys today or something?

Ref

Leave them fickle fools.

Merlin's Panini

Good luck to Ryo. He should get a lot more game time this season. He’ll be their best player by some distance. Would’ve liked to see him in an Arsenal shirt this season but this will be good for him.
I wonder if this means Arshavin might hang around for his final year. As frustrating as he can be, he can produce sensational moments and run the show on his day.

heihaci

Great news
Better for him to get regular PL games

IndieGunner

This summer has been slightly surreal. Absolutely nothing to whinge about. It is a very strange feeling for a Gooner. Ryo’s move makes this one of the best transfer window of the last four years.

Arsenalkid700

If you go on Facebook and look really hard you will find criticism…

Why doesnt Wenger buy a keeper? Why not a center-back, we dont have any good ones? OMFG we need a new striker!!! We need to sell Koshity because he stinks, remember his first game against Liverpool.

Dr Baptiste

Or look on Le Grove. They all whinge out their arse over there

big black clock

I absolutely loathe the Facebook comments page. Full of brainless glory hunters.

Dick Swiveller

Whut? People wouldn’t actually use a dodgy sending off to tar an entire players career with? Would they? No-one is that stupid.

Nick

Great news for Ryo! He & Arsenal will really benefit from this loan. Martinez is a great manager and will definitely help continue Ryo’s maturation into the future Arsenal legend. It’s a better move than him going to Bolton again. I was hoping he’d either go there, Swans or Southampton.

Glory Hunter

I doubt any sane Gooner can moan about anything thus far this transfer window!
We haven’t sold any key players yet & Almunia’s gone for crying out loud. 😉

Alex

Great news! I live less than 10 minutes from the DW, will be able to keep an eye on this youngster now!

alex

One of the best teams he could go to. In terms of benefit, similarity to us, etc. Hopefully he has an injury free year and can make some progress.
