According to Sport Business, Arsenal have appointed Juliet Slot to replace outgoing Chief Commercial Officer Peter Silverstone.
Slot arrives at the Emirates with nearly 30 years of experience on the commercial side of sports and will be responsible for commercial development and strategy, as well as partnerships, ticketing, retail and marketing.
At a time when we need to up our game off the pitch, Slot has her work cut out. Amongst many other things, our kit deal with Adidas and shirt sponsorship agreement with Emirates both come to an end in 2024 and renewals or replacements need to be agreed. The Visit Rwanda sleeve deal ends the year after.
Luckily, Slot arrives with a decent pedigree. She spent eight years at Ascot Racecourse and has previously worked for Adidas, Fulham, the London 2012 Olympic Games, as well as well-known sports PR consultancy Pitch.
Speaking about her appointment, Slot said: “The Arsenal name is recognised around the world as being unique both on and off the pitch with a hugely loyal and engaged global following.
“I am excited to find new ways to bring existing fans closer to the club and to grow our support across the world for both our men’s and women’s teams. I am also looking forward to working together with our fantastic suite of partners in meeting our mutual objectives.”
Given the corridors of power in the Emirates have traditionally been male-dominated, it doesn’t go unnoticed that Slot is a woman.
Three years ago, the club acknowledged a lack of diversity at senior level and made a pledge to actively seek and recruit more women. We hope similar observations won’t be necessary going forward as the club delivers on its promises.
Best of luck to Juliet, we’re sure you’ll Slot right in.

Cheers to @Calacus for the heads up.
Great to see more female representation in a key position 👏
A key slot
More Adidas kits, please.
Let’s hope that she can get great sponsorship deals and save the fans paying as much.
Plus renew the kit every two years rather than annually.
Blogs, well done. You built up a whole piece for the punny joke delivered in the last line. I couldn’t stop reading knowing it was coming. Perfect execution.
I’ve heard slot is a moneymaking machine
Has anyone here visited Rwanda based on the sleeve deal?
We should rather appoint a new manager.
If the job comes with a company car, will it be made by Scalextric or Aurora?
Keep adidas. We’re crap on the pitch but off it we’re drip fc
Presumably since she comes from horse racing, the club is looking to expand its relationships with betting partners.
It would be typical of Kroenke’s Arsenal to try signing up a betting firm as a shirt sponsor just as the government begins ways of reducing the amount of betting advertising within sport.
