Arsenal take on Nottingham Forest today in the FA Cup 3rd round.
Here are the official line-ups.
Nottingham Forest: Samba, Spence, Worrall, Colback, Davis, Zinckernagel, Johnson, Yates, McKenna, Cook, Garner
Subs: Hovarth, Figuieredo, Grabban, Carvalho, Bong, Cafu, Silva, Ojeda, Taylor
Arsenal: Leno, Cedric, White, Holding, Tavares, Lokonga, Patino, Saka, Odegaard, Martinelli, Nketiah
Subs: Ramsdale, Tierney, Chambers, Mari, Kolasinac, Salah-Eddine, Hutchinson, Lacazette, Biereth
good luck Charlie!
So glad to see little old Liverpool managing to scrape a win against the mighty Shrewsbury.
Surprising they even managed to field a full team with 9 subs, including little know international Brazil striker Firminho coming off the bench to score.
I hope that put a smile on Klopps teeth
So they miraculously have players for FA cup today. Seem like people are beginning to be afriad of us. Nonsense!
Why Saka???
He last played on the 1st. He’s had sufficient rest if that is why you asked.
Like a shark needs to swim, Saka’s gotta do his thing. Maybe…, dunno.
Hopefully he comes off at 60.
No other player on the bench plays as right wing. Hutchinson and Biereth played there a couple of times, but the former is actually an attacking midfielder and the latter a center forward. They also only played for the U23 up until now.
Who is captain?
Really looking forward to seeing patino. Nketia can do it at this level so might score a couple and Brighton maybe give us 5 million for him.
I’m guessing The Smith and Xhaka have covid, to not make the bench
Pepe too
He’s at AFCON
Was testing you all. You passed
Pepe is off to the AFCON
And Balogun, or just his loan deal is getting done?
Can’t believe we will have Kolasinac. We should be looking to sell/loan him asap.
Strong forward line.
Payback time. The 4 – 2 loss of ’17 – 18 on my mind.
4 years ago, strong team with Holding starting and Nketiah came off bench in 4-2 defeat – let’s make sure history is not repeated!
That front six! Woof!
Ødegaard must feel ancient.
Great line up, excited to see Patino make full debut. Come on you whites! I have fallen in love with Arsenal all over again
no balogun?
Please be writing the kick off time as well in your posts. It would really help.
It starts at 2.65 zm
Strong front line! Can’t wait to see Charlie, and hopefully some other youngsters too
Beeb says Xhaka has Covid but this could be just the chance Patino has been waiting for. How I’d love to see him do an ESR and march straight into the first team regularly! COYG!
Balagun and Xhaka have Covid.
All the talent from hale end is attacking… would have thought a more Physical DM would 3on the bench from the U-23’s…and didn’t chambers play that position when he went out on loan? We’re one injury or suspension away from a crisis in midfield…smash forest and use your 5subs..
ESR and Tomi injured? 🙁
They both have knocks.
Interesting. But very much looking forward
No jenks?
Home game v Leicester if we get through!
No Balogun
Well he already scored on his debut and it’s only up from here. Let’s get revenge from when they knocked us out
My girlfriend occasionally pays a little bit of attention when I’m watching games, she watched the end of the game where patino got his debut and goal and was really happy for him.
I just told her ‘that young lad is starting today’ she said ‘oh what Charlie? Brilliant’ and sat down next to me to watch the game.
I think she’s slowly but surely getting the arsenal bug 🙂
Hope Dusan wasn’t watching that first half!
I like Holding, but…..
I’m usually fully behind Arteta’s decisions but I don’t agree at all with hauling a player off just because of a rough 30 minutes. Especially a young player.
The kid is 21 years old, that’s bound to knock his confidence.
At the very least just wait until half-time.
Whats more important. The team perfoming well or Tavares’s feelings? Last I checked we are a professional football team not a charity..
Sure, I get it, but do you really think it was Tavares who was holding our attack back?
Not saying he was amazing, but I wouldn’t say he was the issue.
Tierney’s arrival hardly turned the team around.
The problems were – are -elsewhere.
That sub wasnt for the attack it was for the defense and the possesion of the ball..
Forest weren’t dangerous at all in the first half.
The possession wasn’t the issue. We had 56% possession in the first half.
The issue was attacking incisiveness, and that had nothing to do with whoever was playing at LB.
We also seemed to struggle to pass the ball accurately, but again, that was not primarily a left back issue.
Agreed it was the wrong decision.
Sorry I didn’t realize your name was actually Sir Alex Ferguson…
Who’s to say his Nuno might not have pulled another terrible error in the 1st that would of led to us conceding (given the fact he already had one terrible back pass to Leno)
He got what he deserved. There’s a difference between playing badly and playing badly and putting in absolutely no effort in of the ball.
Hey, look, the horseshoe is back!
And taking off Tavares so early seems like unnecessary drama. We needed a change, yes, but it could have waited until halftime.
Not sure it’s the right change anyway – it seems to me the issue is at striker, not left back.
Need to get lacazette on for nketia
Cannot believe nketia has been left on and up front and lacazette playing deeper. This is mental.
When I saw Lacazette about to come on, I knew immediately it was going to be for Patio, not Nketiah.
A 100% Arteta substitution.
We miss the through balls and share physicality from xhaka and partey. they also offer control. No one in the team can replicate lacazette’s hold up…I still insist we’re one injury from a crisis in defensive and central midfield.
I’ll go one step further – we need everybody to be available and performing at 100%.
If that doesn’t happen, we’re in trouble.
Well, that was bad. Almost had the impression that some of our players took the fixture too lightly.
Hope this settles the debate on nketiah.
He would struggle in the championship
The real Eddie showed up today happy to see him leave.
We were worse in the second half and got what we deserved. Think the half-time was spent litigating the extreme decision to haul Tavares off on 30 minutes. He was terrible to be sure but not sure it made sense to humiliate him in that way, especially when we’ll need him very soon with the fixture congestion.
All but Leno were poor today.
Deflating.
Taveras didn’t deserve to stay on. He put no effort in of the ball. If that sets a precedent for the rest of the squad, it was worth it. We got him for a cheap price the same way as guendouzi, because of attitude and the selling team glad to see the back of them. It’s up to him to put a shift in, Mikel shouldn’t be worried about his feelings.
