Arsenal defender Lotte Wubben-Moy has signed a new contract with the club. The 23-year-old came through the Arsenal academy before spending three years at University of North Carolina in the US.
Lotte grew up in Stoke Newington in an Arsenal supporting family and is a long-term fan of the club. Her new contract follows fellow defender Leah Williamson signing a new deal earlier this season, while Brazilian centre-half Rafaelle was signed in January, securing the core of the Arsenal central defence for the next few years at least.
Lotte returned to the club from the US in September 2020. “It feels amazing,” Lotte told Arsenal.com. “This contract means so much more to me and to my family than just it being a football contract. It’s a commitment to the club and it’s a commitment to Arsenal, the community that it’s active in and to my life as a whole, because that’s what Arsenal is – it’s my life.”

Head coach Jonas Eidevall said: “Lotte has proven herself as an important player for us this season and so I’m delighted that she has extended her stay with the club. She is one of the most exciting young defenders in English football and I believe she has all the tools to continue her progression here at Arsenal.”
“We’re delighted that Lotte has committed her future to the club,” added Head of Women’s Football Clare Wheatley. “Lotte knows this club inside out and we are all proud to see her establishing herself for both club and country. Her progression since rejoining us in 2020 has been impressive and we look forward to watching her continue to develop in the years to come.”
Arseblog News had the opportunity to chat with Lotte about her new deal earlier this week and those quotes will come out at 12noon on Friday.
This is great news! 🙂 Happy to see her extend! Arsenal’s central defence looking decent going forward!
Have to ask though, any idea how things might be going with Viv’s contract, or any other contracts that we might want to extend?
