It was confirmed this week that Amario Cozier-Duberry has signed his first professional contract with Arsenal and the news is significant as it means the club have retained the services of one of their brightest prospects.
Cozier-Duberry has developed very well since joining Arsenal in 2019 and has demonstrated his adaptability – he is perhaps best suited to playing as a left winger but he can also operate as an attacking midfielder or as a left wing-back.
A very skilful player who is capable of finding the net himself or creating chances for others, Cozier-Duberry has also progressed well on the international stage and was named in the latest England U18 squad.
Last season the youngster, who recently turned 17, was one of the standout performers for Arsenal at U18 level and he benefitted from the coaching of Dan Micciche, who has now left the club.
However, Cozier-Duberry only featured fleetingly for Arsenal U23s and he perhaps deserved to have more opportunities at that level.
Given that he has now progressed to professional terms, it seems inevitable that further involvement with the U23s is the next step for Cozier-Duberry, and he could have a major part to play next season.
A hard working player who is always determined to improve, he will now be looking to push on further and make the step up to second-string football.

We need players in the first team.
Don’t be shortsighted, Bluce. Where do you think Saka came from?
Anyone know where Amario joined Arsenal from? Some reports suggest that he had a trial with us before becoming a scholar.
