According to Training Ground Guru, Arsenal’s senior first team physiotherapist Simon Murphy has left the club to become head physio at Nottingham Forest.
Murphy joined the Gunners last season from Leicester and worked closely with fellow physio Jordan Reece (the most visible presence on matchdays) and long-standing head of medical services Gary O’Driscoll.
In April, Murphy retweeted a job advert for a role similar to his. In retrospect, it looks as though it may well have been his own.

Manager Mikel Arteta hinted at changes in the backroom staff in an interview last week, saying: “We know the season we have is so exciting, the new faces help, we’ve made some changes around the staff as well.”
The club used to be more forthright in detailing who does what behind the scenes (there was even a staff page on the website) but, for whatever reason, that changed a few years back.
We’ll keep our eyes peeled and see if we can spot any new faces.
The more the merrier.
30 million and they can have him.
Feels like a lot of churn in the backroom staff off late. Is this normal?
