It was confirmed this week that Miguel Azeez has joined Wigan Athletic on loan for the rest of the season after being recalled from his spell at Ibiza.
Azeez is now starting his third loan spell away from Arsenal and the 20-year-old will be fully aware that his time at Wigan needs to be a success.
During his stints at Portsmouth and Ibiza Azeez didn’t perform especially badly, but he also didn’t manage to stand out on many occasions and there is a feeling that he is still adapting to the demands of senior football.
It is clear that the youngster has a lot of quality, especially with regards to his passing, but he isn’t afforded the same time on the ball at first-team level as he is when playing for the U21s.
A longstanding concern with Azeez is that he doesn’t always take the game by the scruff of the neck and at times his overall impact on proceedings can be minimal.
Perhaps working under Kevin Betsy will help to bring out the best in Azeez. The former Arsenal U23s coach is an assistant to Kolo Toure at Wigan and it is believed that he played a major part in the deal to sign Azeez on loan.
Azeez’s chances of succeeding at Arsenal are by no means over but the remainder of the season could be hugely important in terms of determining how the next stage of his career will unfold.

Wish him all the best in his loan. Hopefully he gets game time and crushes it.
