Arsenal captain Kim Little has signed a new contract with the club. The Gunners legend’s current deal expires at the end of the season and the Scot has extended her terms (it’s club policy not to confirm the precise length of contract extensions).
Little joined the club as a teenager back in 2008, winning five league titles and three FA Cups before joining Seattle Reign (now OL Reign) in the US in 2013. Kim returned to the club in 2016 and was immediately named captain. Since her return, she has won a league title and two Conti Cups. She has played 290 times for Arsenal.
It was announced yesterday that Kim would miss the remainder of the season with a hamstring injury. “I’m delighted to sign a new contract at Arsenal,” Little told Arsenal.com. “Thinking back to when I first joined at the age of 17, I’m so proud of the progress that we have made together. Arsenal has been such an important part of my life and over time this club has become my home. It continues to be a privilege to represent Arsenal and I’m still so motivated to move this club forward and to be a part of its success.”
Head coach Jonas Eidevall added: “Kim is a world-class player and an exemplary professional. Her contribution here over many years has been outstanding and we are so pleased that she will continue to represent Arsenal for years to come. On and off the pitch, Kim is such an important part of what we are trying to achieve here at Arsenal Football Club so we are all delighted with this news.”
Head of Women’s Football Clare Wheatley said: “Few people are so universally respected in the way that Kim is in the world of football. She is a wonderful player and an outstanding person and we are so delighted to confirm that Kim will be staying at Arsenal. She has been one of the best players in the world for over a decade and her influence as captain of this football club is immense. We look forward to seeing her back on the pitch very soon.”

That is wonderful news. Everything said about Kim here is absolutely true, she is WORLD CLASS!!
First we had the bad news, now we get the GOOD NEWS!
This is wonderful. A mutual vote of confidence. Congratulations to Kim and Arsenal WFC. This could be as much of a factor as CL football when it comes to retaining and attracting players. Kim Little is the footballers’ footballer.
Kim is the best player in the WSL – by a country mile!
I absolutely agree with you 👍
