Arsenal have confirmed a friendly with Manchester United in New York City as part of this summer’s pre-season tour of the United States.
The Gunners will face Erik Ten Hag’s side at the 82,500-capacity MetLife Stadium on Saturday 22nd July.
Mikel Arteta’s squad will start their Stateside preparations in Washington D.C. against an MLS All-Star XI managed by Wayne Rooney. That game takes place at Audi Field on 19 July.
A third match in Los Angeles at the LA Rams’ SoFi Stadium is yet to be confirmed but should form the third leg of the tour.
On the newly arranged fixture, Edu said: “The plans for pre-season are making good progress, with the match against Manchester United in New York being another important part of our preparations. Playing against strong opposition in a great stadium in front of so many of our supporters in New York will provide Mikel and the squad with a strong test and great experience ahead of the new season.
“We’ve now announced two matches in the US in July and look forward to announcing further details of our pre-season soon.”
Met life is in new jersey by the way! The far superior state
Sez you.
Meanwhile, even over here we know that the only reason that New Jersey is called “The Garden State” is that “The Petrochemical Refineries and Metal Recycling Facilities State” won’t fit in the space on a license plate.
While you’re there visit beautiful Newark, the crown jewel of the Eastern Seaboard. Delight yourself in Asbury Park, the dilapidation is actually whimsical. Don’t forget Cowtown. I’m willing to bet it is in fact your first time at the rodeo!
Hope we stuff them, even if it’s only a run out.
“We’ve won the League Cup and are going to get stuffed out of sight on the FA Cup Final, so we’ve had a better season than you.”
Yes Roy. Yes, little red Mancs. Whatever you say….
🙄
Manchester United? Yeah I think I’ve heard of them.
Little big men who think the League Cup and getting stuffed by Erling Haaland in the FA Cup Final is a better season than finishing (at least) 2nd in the league.
Another lot who think the season’s over in April.
Twats.
Some lowly mid table piece of shit or other….
Beneath us anyway.
I really wish we didn’t have to play rival premier league teams in preseason.
We invariably see nasty challenges designed to injure our players and hamper our start to the season.
Yes it’s great for the fans abroad but it doesn’t do us any favours.
Oh, I dunno… trashing Chelsea last July in Florida really helped set the tone for BOTH of our seasons…
Was at that match and trust me, it was fun.
Normally I would agree with you, but I haven’t made it home for a game since the Christmas. before covid. These games are great for me.
McTomminy is even worse. anytime I see him he gets away with at least 3 bad fouls before a yellow, then another few afterwards.
Yep.
McTomminy held top spot in my ‘I Fucking Hope You Break Both Legs You Utter Cunt’ list.
But, due to recent events, he now drops to 4th, behind (in reverse order, drum roll please, *opens gold envelope…)
3rd Place – Rodri
2nd Place – Haaland
and the player I would love to see that fucking smirk replaced by screams of genuine agony is….
1st Jack fucking Grealish. The little cunt.
I miss the old days in the Austrian Alps and a trip to the Wankdorf.
Money talks these days.
Until City are expelled from the Premiership.
Oh happy day…..
“Look erhhhhh…. listen, erhhhhh….only a few handfuls of muesli and plenty of mastication, Patrick….”
Lol!!
But not before a trip to Barnet or Boreham Wood!
Unfortunately we didn’t get to Fucking. That’s the Austrian town, named Fucking.
There’s a village in Hertfordshire called Ugley (Pronounced Ooooh – gleee) north of Bishops Stortford where I used to play football.
A lot of inbred Tottenham fans live in Ugley.
Good idea to focus on the upcoming summer given how we’ve bottled it
😴
I know you are a troll but Arsenal are going to win the league title
In 2024…yeah!
Exciting to hear but I’m scared to see what ticket prices will be like. I do know that parking is $40, though!
You and me both!
I’m a London Black Taxi Cabbie and I’m out earning 24/7 (or near enough, that’s what it feels like) already.
And before any of you ask, yes, I’ve seen a lot of celebs and (more importantly) a lot of footballers including eleven past and present Arsenal stars.
Anywhere in the US in July is sweltering. Especially DC, are we trying cull the weaker plays via heat stroke?
There is a proper team at Crystal Palace. They have beaten West Ham at home, while other teams have managed to get a draw.
Yeah and we took six points from Palace.
Your point being………..?
