With the game against Norwich tomorrow very much on the horizon, Arsene Wenger has provided an injury update ahead of the trip to Carrow Road.
As expected Theo Walcott misses out after being smashed in the ribs by the San Marino goalkeeper. A bruised lung is causing him to lose his breath quickly but the winger is not expected to be out long term.
Also missing is Kieran Gibbs whose thigh strain has not recovered sufficiently in time for him to play, but again he’s likely to be back sooner rather than later and could even make the midweek game against Schalke. Andre Santos will deputise tomorrow.
There was more worrying news about Abou Diaby and Tomas Rosicky with the manager suggesting both are a ‘few weeks’ away from a first team return, having been ‘a few weeks’ away for the last little while. Both players are notoriously slow healers but with Wilshere and Sagna heading for a first team return they could pick up the slack.
And with regards Lukas Fabianski, there was confirmation that the Pole had suffered an ankle injury.
“Fabianski sees a specialist today,” he said. “I don’t know what will come out of that. It’s an ankle ligament problem – a new problem. He was back in training before that.
“Szczesny I think is two weeks away.”
This is the third that I heard Sczney is two weeks away.
PS: Get well soon lads. Up the Arse..!
Off to buy a decorder for me head. Seems will need it for the injury updates.
Also the other day rosicky was jogging around with sagna around colney looking all chuffed, sagna is back, rosicky is still two weeks away!. (Make that two decorders sir)
actually, i’m currently going to heal my injury on another planet where every day is two weeks away from football.
Namek?
Haha if he went there then Dende or one of the gurus would have healed him by now. Lets hope he comes back with extra powers. But seriously, Szcz was playing with an ankle injury and only aggravated it. But he should be fully fit in 2-3 weeks. Wenger is making sure he heals properly.
“Another planet where every day is two weeks away from football”……….Sookies fairy’ planet in trueblood should do quite nicely for you then!
you know how i know you are gay?
every is sunday and the doctors are having an off day on every sunday. so.. 🙁
Aren’t we the club with the worst injury record in the universe? When was the last time we had a whole team fit and healthy?
When Did Manchester United ever have their whole team fit & healthy ?
Who gives a fuck about those cunts
I doubt if any team in the EPL have ever had the full compliment of its squad at any given time.
those teams which are easily knocked out of cup competitions and then only play on weekends usually have full squad available. you can find such one team in your neighbour if you look carefully.always in our shadow.
Daiby is just a crock I think.top class player but legs like glass
Who is this Daiby that you speak of Sir?
Good job we appear to have the much sought after strength and depth we’ve quite obviously been missing in recent years. Bit worrying on the Diaby front, just when we he was getting his stride back. Plus if Rosicky can get back to fitness and near last years form, that would be creamy!
Come on the powers of player healing then player maintenance (or whatever sports science/medical techniques/treatments we have) shine down on our gunners please!
STUART PEARCE IS A TOTAL MR. NO DAY OFF PRICK!
(yeah that’s right, I shouted)
The lack if information on injuries over the years has frustrated me a bit. I know the fans can not be expected to know every detail of the club but surely after all we invest we deserve something less vague! I do sometimes wish the manager/club would be a bit more direct with us, then maybe I am just too obsessed.
Lets get a good 3 points tomorrow, I quite fancy Santos to bag a goal.
I quiet fancy arsenal -1 11/8 Norwich just can’t defend.there like schoolboys.money for jam
Why can’t he just once say ” Diaby is 2to3 months away, Sczesny at least 2 months…” not this shit with 2to3 weeks every week— I’m sick of it!!!
Be honest for once!!!
It’s almost as if you have to estimate how long injuries will take to heal using the information you have available at the time and NOT psychic knowledge of the future.
You prat.
Well I’m pretty sure you know when you’ve twisted your ankle and when you’ve really smashed it…or do you?!
Sczesny is now more then a month injured, and another 3 weeks will make it 2 months…sooo I guess he really smashed it.
Miros, to play in the PL requires fitness that is beyond anybody else’s idea of what fit means. If they come up short they have a massive chance of a new injury. Your twisted ankle – 2 weeks to heal and you’re back at work and walking down the pub, Their twisted ankle – 2 weeks to heal, 2 weeks to get back to any normal person’s peak fitness, 2 weeks of reserve games and substitute appearances to regain match fitness These guys are the human equivalent of a Formula 1 car…. cutting edge perfection of form, which can break… Read more »
hey! !! !!! it’s not that time when you get all worked up, okay? Now, follow this therapeutic set of rules: 1. Get a glass of water 2. Hold it up to the light 3. bring it down to tour chin level 4. take a sip; and another sip; and another 5. raise it up to the light again 6. bring it back down to your chin level 7. take one BIG GULP 8. gently drop the glass in the sink (to be washed later) Note that, if you don’t drop it gently, you create another problem for yourself if… Read more »
But if you drink your water from a horse placenta it will magically cure all your ills at the first sip, unless you are Dutch and/or an ungrateful cunt.
We signed Bouldy already. Next up is Prof. Albus Percival Wulfric Brian Dumbledore; and for our medical room to be named Gryffindor (as opposed to Mordor: take not, Stoke City).
Yes, it’s time for magical. Why not? When we’ve got Santa-Art(eti). No more magical than having those two!

The club is rarely transparent with the fans about injuries. Sadly, I feel that Diaby will only be a bit part player with us, at best. If that proves to be the case it might well be his last season as a pro. footballer.
@Sensible Gunner, you are probably pointing out squad depths and so on with your reference to Utd, but hold on a minute; every time one player we are hunkering for gets back from a long layoff (cue LANS calls), another one suffers the injury curse. Plus there’s always a long termer keeping the medics occupied! And anyways, the Mancs always have referees awarding them penalties for the opponent having bothered to show up, they don’t need a full squad as much as we do!!
“Szczesny I think is two weeks away.”
YEAH !
also i forgot to add little bit..bendtner still injured in head…that will be all
