Arsenal forward Caitlin Foord has signed a new contract with the club. The Australian winger joins compatriot Steph Catley, whose contract extension was announced earlier this week, as well as Lia Walti, Kim Little and Frida Maanum in extending her terms with the club this summer.
Foord inked new terms last May but Arsenal were quick to extend her deal as she continues to be a key player in the team, making 33 appearances last season, scoring 11 goals and providing nine assists.
“I couldn’t be happier to extend my stay here at Arsenal,” Foord told Arsenal.com. “I feel like I’m growing and improving being here in this environment so I don’t want to leave that. I want to continue to get better and to help the team – I enjoy going out and training every day and wanting to be better and being surrounded by world class players. This feels like the right place – the place I want to be.”
Head Coach Jonas Eidevall added: “Caitlin is an integral part of our team so we’re all delighted by the news that she has signed a new contract. She is one of the best forwards in the world and has performed to a consistently high standard for us during my time here, providing some crucial goals and delivering on the biggest stages. I’m looking forward to seeing what we can achieve together next season and Caitlin will play a key role in that.”
Head of Women’s Football Clare Wheatley said: “Everyone at Arsenal is delighted that Caitlin has agreed a new deal here at the club. She is one of the best forwards in the world and her new contract means that she will spend her prime years here at Arsenal, so this is fantastic news for all connected with our club.”

Wonderful news. CF has blossomed at the club and has been an absolute star this season. Not to mention her work rate, which is actually frightening! Well done to player and club.
…and the contracts keep coming! For me Foord was in the conversation for player of the year for the season. She was instrumental, especially with all the attacking absentees. She gives us something no else in the squad does, the chaos factor.
Speaking of contracts, Tim, any word on Viv? My understanding was that last summer was just a 1-yr extension which would leave her free this summer.
Viv signed a 1+1 last summer so no renewal needed yet.
