Joel Ideho departure wouldn’t be a huge surprise

A significant amount of youth players are set to leave Arsenal this summer, with Joel Ideho reportedly amongst them.

According to journalist Alan Nixon, Ideho will be released at the end of June and Burnley are interested in signing the winger for their U21 squad.

If Ideho does depart then it wouldn’t be a major surprise as the 19-year-old isn’t especially close to the first-team squad at Arsenal.

Although he has been involved in behind closed doors friendlies, Ideho doesn’t train with the senior squad on a regular basis and he took some time to truly establish himself in the U21s before stepping up this season.

Ideho is a skilful player and he has scored some spectacular goals, including some from the halfway line. However, at present he seems to be an individual who is more known for producing outstanding moments rather than outstanding performances.

The likes of Amario Cozier-Duberry and Charles Sagoe Jr have performed with greater consistency, but in the right environment Ideho could be capable of performing well at a different club.

The former Ajax player joined Arsenal two years ago and has made 37 appearances for the U21s.

A Different George

Our own private Ideho.

Johnny 4 Hats

I heard, that when it comes to Joel Ideho, wherever he lays his hat, that’s his home.

I confess I was surprised, but that’s entirely on account of not bing familiar enough with our youth players outside those who have been more involved in training sessions with the first team. Thanks as ever Jeorge, for bringing us these updates.

Apologies for the typo!

Thanks Jeorge for update. Do you believe there will be a breakout star from our academy this season.

Merlin’s Panini

I love how Amario Cozier-Duberry and Charles Sagoe Jr sound more like 1960s Jazz musicians. That Charles Sagoe Jr plays a mean trumpet.
