The news comes hot on the heels of an agreement with West Ham for Declan Rice and Mikel Arteta expects both players to be available when the Gunners head Stateside for a trio of pre-season friendlies.
The arrivals of Timber, Rice and Kai Havertz means Arsenal’s spending for the summer has already exceeded £200 million. The departure of Pablo Mari to AC Monza has recouped £6 million and there’s a deal in place to sell Granit Xhaka to Bayer Leverkusen for £21.5 million.
The Gunners are hoping to pull in further cash from the exits of Alex Runarsson, Cedric Soares, Nuno Tavares, Auston Trusty, Sambi Lokonga, Nicolas Pepe and Charlie Patino. There’s also a chance that Folarin Balogun, Rob Holding, Kieran Tierney and Thomas Partey could leave the club.
If they raise enough funds, more shopping is likely.
Welcome aboard JT!
unfortunately JT conjurs up some sour memories of some cunt that used to play for certain time. let’s go with Timber
My favourite memory of that JT was when he was accidentally kicked in the face.
Welcome to the greatest club in the world Jurrien!!
My favorite memory is when he fell over, but a close second is him showing up like a full kit wanker when he was injured.
There’s also the complete capitulation of his NFT racket. So many to choose from.
My favourite JT moments came when was too busy trying to foul our players to actually tackle them. Both Lee Dixon and Freddie Ljungberg scored as a result! Freddie in the cup final.
I also like his ridiculous captains armband tattoo. Such class.
Ray Parlour
Never mind, thought you said both in the cup final.
I was thinking about the second goal when when JT tried to physically stop Freddie instead of tackling him. But yes, it was the “It’s only Ray Parlour” final.

Now that De Clan Rice signing is in the pocket, our fans are disrespecting his absolute idol. He may be Pregogine of football for you, he is still the semi-god of one of your players.
Who is JT? Genuine question.
His name shall not soil these pages. He used to captain Chelsea under a certain manager who’s almost as much of a c*nt as he is, if not more
Johnny Twat. Known for pulling on full kit after matches he nevr played.
And for shagging their teammates girlfriend.
And for being a racist
A cunt.
A racist cunt for a proven racist club
John Taylor. The bass guitarist in Duran Duran.
Don’t get chatting to Mrs Q about him, you’ll never get away….
This is great news, Timber will be a great addition to our squad. Looks like we finally got Rice, still think we over payed by 30-40 million for him but FK it not my money. I still think we should also go for Caicedo if the rumours of both Partey and Xhaka leaving are true. The energy Caicedo will bring to our team will be immense and a middle finger to Chelsea and Man Utd.
I have no havertzion buying timber to heat the rice.
I agree, but think we need to accept that this window is just 30% more expensive than any previous. Brighton have just spent £22m on a 20 year old goalkeeper. That’s only a few quid cheaper than Ramsdale and everyone baulked at that transfer. United are going to pay +£50m for Onana. Caicedo is an £100m player and Lavia is £50m. It’s not only us who are overpaying, if we even are overpaying. With some of the money flying around, the Rice deal looks pretty good business IMHO. He’s as close to a sure thing as any player on the… Read more »
You raise a good point. All the fees are swelled ATM. However if Liverpool paid 75mil for VVD at least 5 years ago. 100mil for an English prem captain doesn’t seem that outrageous. Really feel Dec will have a similar affect as VVD did for Liverpool back then (no pressure then Dec!) COYG!!!!
Caicedo will cost easily what rice did now that we’ve set the tone and he’s signed a new contract (in February). Not worth the money if we can find a coachable alternative at half that for the future, as well have plenty of space in the midfield when elneny and jorginho move on.
We have 2 people for each position, no need for Caicedo even if Partey leaves. Think about it. Ramsdale, White, Saliba, Gabriel, Zinchenko, Rice, Havertz, Odegaard, Martinelli, Saka, Jesus (1st XI). Turner, Tomiyasu, Timber, Kiwior, Tierney, Jorginho, Vieira, Smith Rowe, Trossard, Nelson, Nketiah (2nd XI), with Elneny as further midfield cover. We could sell Xhaka, Partey, Holding, Balogun as well as the other out of favour players like Cedric, Pepe etc…
I love this team’s initiative more and more. Welcome Timber!
We haven’t had many Dutchmen down the years, i can only think of Overmars, Van Persie and of course the greatest player ever to pull on an Arsenal shirt, Glen Helder.
It’s going down, I’m yelling TIMBERRR!
What a week this has been. WELCOME TO THE ARSENAL!
#COYG
My Timber chant – to the tune of ‘Hitler has only got one ball’
Timber, he loves to play football,
Timber, he answered Mikel’s call,
His brother, plays for another,
But wishes he was at Arsenal.
I’m glad I wasn’t the only one with that Ke$ha tune in my head!
You’re going down!, I’m Jurrien Timberrrrr.
I hope this will be a case of Je ne regrette Jur-rien
There’s a joke about getting wood somewhere here…
Very good 79 rated right back on Fifa 23. Strong defensively, accurate passer, and supports Saka well
Caiceido Fifa 22 was 64. Maybe not the most reliable source of info
It’s going down, I’m yelling timber
When a strong challenge from our new JT brings an opponent crashing to the ground, the crowd will all yell TIMBER!!!
This is awesome. Now retain partey and let’s get 1 forward/wide player. Our depth is looking great.
A lot of folks saying he’s just defensive cover, and he may very well be, but if we deploy an attacking left back timber gives us the opportunity to try inverting the right side the way we do on the left with zinchenko.
Not sure if it would be another CB on the left if Zinchenko is out like in the last game of the season.
it could be, and it could very well be someone else (not tavares, but someone very attack focused like he is) if we’re chasing a game and want to pile on the pressure.
Yeah, I like this idea too. IMO this gives Tierney life. He should play more to rest Zinny and when we want something different. I really hope Tierney stays. He’ll get plenty of game time.
The point behind a lot of these new signings is the tactical flexibility. We’ve been a little predictable, given the lack of depth (and injuries), so having another option is always welcome.
White, Saliba, Gabriel, Zinchenko, Tomiyasu, Timber, Kiwior, (Tierney, Holding). With five of the first six comfortable as centre-halves, three as right fullbacks, and three as left fullbacks. Very Arteta.
six of the first seven (Arteta has a lot of assistants to keep track; I have to rely on my fingers).
Which of them are confortable playing left back? Zinky, Tomi and Kiwior?
Well we already knew they were good at buying. Still have to prove they are knowledgeable about selling.
Does anyone think there’s a chance he may be signed primarily to compete with Zinchenko? According to the scouting video I saw he’s far more natural dribbling/passing/interchanging through tight spaces in the middle, than skinning players on the flanks and finding a cross/pull back. With his superior recovery pace and one-on-one defending, screams inverted full back to me. But do we really want our RB and LB both playing narrow together? Perhaps Tierney is in line for a comeback in a traditional LB role… Doesn’t seem suitable as a back 4 CB in the PL due to his weakness in… Read more »
I think it’s an either or situation- they may both be on the pitch together, but one is likely to cover for the other if they venture forward. Sort of a ‘double inverted fullback pivot’ if you will (someone come up with a better name for this please)
Total football
Can’t wait to face Nottingham Forest.
Peter Drury: “Timber axes down a Forest player but got the ball first. Ref says play on!!!” 🤗
Cue the away fans singing the lumberjack song.
Maybe we will be short in numbers. We need a big squad with lots of quality players to perform in the CL.
Looking forward to some more terrible wood puns from blogs.
Especially if he gets excited
A player of Timber’s calibre is a man of timber and calibre!
Welcome home!
I quote, “…a player of Timber’s caliber is a man of timber and caliber.”
Nailed it.
So Timber can play right back, centre back or CDM, in other words he could be the new Phill Neville??
Hopefully the next Vincent Kompany.
We signed Rice
We signed Timberrrrrr
We signed Havertz
You best be scared
A transfer window to remember
