Arsenal confirm Kerr as Harvey replacement

Arsenal have confirmed that Shelley Kerr will take over from the outgoing Laura Harvey as Arsenal Ladies manager.

The 43-year-old arrives in North London having cut her teeth coaching the Scotland Under-19s national side for the past four years and with a wealth of experience at international level having been capped 59 times by her country.

Naturally proud to be appointed manager of the most successful team in English women’s football, Shelley revealed:

“I’m extremely excited to be taking up the position of Arsenal Ladies manager. Arsenal have been at the forefront of the women’s game for as long as I can remember and it’s a real honour to join the setup.

“I’m inheriting a great group of players and I look forward to working with them all to bring further success to the Club in the seasons ahead.”

Meanwhile, Arsenal Ladies General Manager Vic Akers (presumably wearing shorts) added:

“We are extremely pleased to have confirmed Shelley as the new Arsenal Ladies manager.

“She has fantastic experience at club and international level and all the qualities needed to succeed at Arsenal. On behalf of everyone at Arsenal Football Club, I would like to welcome Shelley to the Club.”

Shelley’s first task in her new role will be to prepare Arsenal Ladies for their Women’s Champions League quarter-final with Italian side ASD Torres in March.

Arseblog News welcomes Shelley to the Arsenal fold and wishes the Ladies all the best with their quest for a second European honour.

Why does Womans football have to intrude on my purchase of an Arsenal programme or interest in Arsenal News Sources?
If I am interested in Cycling it dosnt mean I have to also be forced to see Cricket!

Maximus

Because this is an Arsenal News website. No-one’s forcing you to read this article, and no-one’s forcing you to be a complete dick either, yet that’s exactly what you’re doing.

Perfectly Normal Gooner

The Arsenal Ladies are apart of our club…

I like the rain

s l little,
when it rains on the rest of us, you must manage to have a halo of sun beating down on you in an endless summer keeping your perfect life perfect.

You lucky bastard.

Biggles

Do you think Vic Akers wears full trousers with a tuxedo, or does he go for more of a Little Lord Fauntleroy look?

Merlin's Panini

The second for sure.
He was the inspiration for Just William as a kid.

Tenzo

Best of luck to you Ma’am, and lead the Lady Gooners to many more wonderful years of success.

The only team that is constantly bringing in trophies as of late. Cheers to that. Of course I got my fingers crossed that the men win the Champions League this year. Yes I know.

Cliff

Slightly disappointed after realising it was not the Kerr of Victoria’s Secret fame.
