Arsene Wenger has updated the press on the team news ahead of Sunday’s game against Stamford Bridge and the news is there really isn’t any news.
Everyone available for Wednesday’s Champions League win over Galatasaray is fit, although there’s an outside chance Nacho Monreal might be back to provide some defensive depth and experience.
With a crunch clash against Mourinho’s Mingers, the manager is keen to put right what went so wrong last season, saying, “We will never forget last year at Chelsea and we have an opportunity to put it right. We have a big hunger to put that right.
“Football is not made of history, football is made of performance and it is the next game that counts. We want to go to Chelsea to win. The fact they are six points ahead makes that desire even bigger.”
Fingers crossed.
Massive game, against MASSIVE cunts!
Come on you Gunners!!
Right the wrongs of last year.
Not only Last season that need to be put right, but also every other game he has ever had vs Mourinho. I dont believe Wenger has ever beaten Mourinho even once in his career. Mou is like his nemesis.
Here is hoping he can finally get this monkey off his back aswell 🙂 Coyg!
For this one I’m going to sit down in front of the live Blog and only want to read a completely biased (in Arsenal’s favour) report. I have no desire to suffer the slings and arrows of the Sky sycophants and their bloody useless troop of hasbeens and never weres spouting crap. Just reading “some cunt off….some cunt on….” puts a smile on my face. I would bloody well love to see Maureen and Cesc sobbing into each others arms after we take all three points. COYG
In that case just watch it on mute…?
Not directly related but a very interesting article about why we get injuries:
http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/arsenals-injury-problems-down-incompetent-3233644
The basic conclusion is the players are overworked and not eased in to playing matches and a training routine that will keep players going for the season.
That article is a bit outdated. We already brought in Shad Forsyth that as far as I know is some very advanced guru in fitness training. Probably it is a bit early to see the effect of his job.
Well the article might be a bit dated but the fact still remains we have an injury list as long as my arm. Shad hasn’t really been able to help proceedings too much.
Too soon to tell. Lets consider Shad’s contribution positive or negative at the end of this season.
I have an alternate theory about the injury situation. Arsenal under Wenger has two traits that will magnify the injury stats: he brings young players in and they grow into stars (or not); and we show incredible loyalty to players. The first factor means that the guys with technical ability get on the first team before they’ve proven that they’re made of iron. Careers in sport are crucially dependent on durability. Big teams can buy players who are not only good but have shown that they are more than usually injury-resistant. Arsenal’s young players may not get hurt more than… Read more »
Our ingredients for success:
Be Patient and compact. Match ALL their runs and one twos.
Get Ramires or Costa sent off.
Double up on Cesc and Hazard at all times.
Put Wellbeck against Terry on any breaks we may have.
Win.
At final whistle after our win, Wenger to pretend to squash their beef and shake hands with Maureen, but actually holds one of those electric shock prank thingies, and electricutes the cunt.
After getting off the floor after rolling around laughing, apologises and provides shiny red saucer for Maureen to eat his Humble Pie on.
Blimey, it’s a miracle you haven’t lead Grimsby Town to the Champions League title. Not. Put away the video games mate. “Get Ramires or Costa sent off” – is there a cheat code for that one? And if there is, why waste it on Ramires? “Match ALL their runs and one twos…Double up on Cesc and Hazard at all times.” – right, so four players to mark Fabregas and Hazard, and the remaining six to track all their other runners, and, er, Szczesny, as the last free man, to launch all our attacks. Got it. Let’s go out there and… Read more »
Hold the line! Have faith, everyone. It’s the BPL. Any team can beat any team. This is our chance to shut alot of mouthy twerps. I’m sure we will.
The key to stopping Chelsea is to make sure Cesc doesn’t control the game.
We all know how dangerous he is when you give him even an ince of space
We need to get Welbeck and Sanchez to mark him. Force him to give John Terry the ball.
You my friend, should be the team strategist.
OMG! Is Paul Ince? Returing from space? Playing for Chelsea, WOW!
If we manage to score a goal against Chelsea I wish cameras would turn immediately to check Cesc’s reaction…I’m sure he would smile with pride (at least on the inside) 🙂
He would be smiling because he would have already assisted 4 goals to Costa *cries*
Last season still haunts me.
Serge, why would you say that? Please don’t say that.
We can do it. COYG!!!
I wouldn’t be surprised if the Chelsea wanker targets our back four due to our shortage in numbers to cause some lasting damage like a sending off!
It’s time Winger gets his first league win against that despicable man.
Sanchez has with Barcelona already, I think you mean Chamberlain then.
Nervous for this one. Massive game.
Couldn’t have summed it up better, nervous as fuck. HUGE GAME for our title aspiration and belief as well.
Good to have our Nacho back, COYG !
We just have to keep it tight for as long as possible. If we go charging like a raging bull from the first minute then we could be in very big trouble. The longer it’s tight, the more desperate Chelsea become and chance for us to nick it in the end.
totally agree mate. Last year, CFC targeted the space our full backs left behind hen they bombed forward. We have to realise we don’t NEED to win this game, and certainly not in the first 10 minutes. We can afford to let it be 0-0. You can’t undo the 6-0 last season, you don’t get those points back. You can only work on this season. The fact we are 6 points behind is neither here nor there. A draw will do. So we need our full backs to sit much more, at most only push into midfield. We now have… Read more »
Couldn’t agree more, it would show a huge improvement in our team & manager if we went in with a game plan that wasn’t keep the ball and attack attack attack. If we go there and at least show that we have improved on last year I won’t be disappointed if we lose by the odd goal buuuuut come on you gooners go and smash those muggy bastards in their own back yard again!
COYG! let’s do this…
Diaby off the bench to kick Terry’s mug off the pitch.
Costa doing his hammy right after kick off.
Fabregas to miss the game due to allergic reaction to playing against us.
Maureen to suffer break down and bawl on live TV blaming Wenger of witchcraft.
Arsenal to do a 6-0 reverse to vanquish ghost of last season.
Amen.
Hazard also sent off for Ivanovic last man tackle xD
Drogba in a freak accident to be propelled into the stands at a trajectory and speed that he zooms directly into Abramovich ‘s arsehole impaling him royally before jetting out of his left eye and up into orbit, before plummetting back down to earth and landing plum in Eboue’s steaming fufu poo.
Hazard sent off for trying to kick the ball from under Gunnersaurus
I’m feeling a win this weekend would be better than a win over our scummy neighbours, purely for the decency of the game. I despise Mourinho and all he stands for – please do the business on Sunday lads!
I’d take a draw at the Bridge any day of the week, of course since the day C*ntinho in charge.
please Wenger DM with DIaby. and the OX. beyond that I will be chewing on my hat!
oh, and don’t concede in the first but do try score heh chaps?
‘We want to win’ – wing backs playing as wingers = counter attacks and Costa/ Remy running onto Cesc’s through balls. Please play for a defensive draw.
Let’s get the 3 points
When is Walcott back??
I’m not looking forward to seeing Cesc in that awful shirt.. Hope we get the points we are going for. COYG
I was just thinking, how would a 4-4-2 formataion fare against Chelsea, with Welbeck and sanogo upfront, Alexis and the Ox on the left and right flanks respectively and wilshere and flamini in the center with the same back four. With instructions to sit deeper and use the pace of the wingers and the frontmen to counter-attack?
Sounds awful
Oh Danny Boy,
The goals the goals youre scoring
From end to end
Beating down the other sides
A team managed by a man who wants to win at all costs against a team managed bya man who wants to win in a fair, beautiful way – in a world where the brute so often triumphs, it would be nice if just this once the forces of good conspired to help carry the artisan and his charges to a memorable victory. May the force be with us lol
Shiiiiiiit I’m excited COYG let’s smash there home record!!
Never thought id say this but……Fuck Cesc! This game ain’t about him. Were bigger than that. All i ask for is a good performance, a draw would be great, a win excellent, really good. A loss and all the negativity around team and Wenger starts all over again…..just don’t be naive and get spanked please.
Fellow gooners, make sure that you are physically and mentally prepared for the game
Win or lose, I got a feeling that this game will not be good for our health…
I wonder if my GP will prescribe me valium based on the effect of difficult away games in the league?
I’ve just purchased 4 milligrams of Xanax for Sunday, courtesy of the American black market. Those, mixed with a few diabolically delicious stouts, and a puff, or two of the finest cheese will more than certainly have me feeling comfortably numb during the 90. And on the bright side, lose, I’m more than likely not gonna remember shit when I wake up for work Monday. Win, and the party rolls over to NFL Sunday at 1 o’clock eastern time and my Sunday looks more like a Friday.
Seems like Roger Federer vs Rafael Nadal at full force; the analogy is so apt: whether playing style, record of dominance or the geographical regions in which they hail from. And no, you wouldn’t fancy Roger beating Rafa (fully fit) anytime now.
I’ve refused too watch Cesc in that dastardly disgusting blue of Chelsea so far this season. Let’s get the 3 points and move onto the next game #COYG
I’m nervous, but this will be a very different team to last year. We had a front three of Podolski/Cazorla/Giroud last year with an attacking bench of Sanogo/Kalstrom/Gnabry.. hardly the most fear enducing (none of them even came on).
This year Chelsea will have to actually worry about defending when they have Welbeck, Sanchez, Wilshere & Ozil running at them. If we play the same team we did against City with OX playing the Rambo role I think we will cause a lot of problems.
The fact that if we lose we will probably drop to 8-9th place makes this game even more important, and there’s a good chance that by the end of the game, we would be overtaken by both ManU and our shit neighbors. You win some you lose some, but the situation is as it is, and it’s making losing unthinkable.
the league position doesn’t matter in October…the result matters yes, but a draw is a great result away from home to a title rival
Sunday Final Score
Chelsea 0-1 Arsenal Terry(OG)
Would be as good as any thrashing for me.
But I know I’m being quite pessimistic here but I’d be happy with even a point. If we lose we are fucked – 9 pts behind with just 7 played would be goddamn awful. Still as Blogs says since Wenger hasn’t beaten Mourinho, probabilistically it becomes more likely with every subsequent meeting. Hope the lads can do it. COYG
Well seeing as the obvious always happens, cesc is guaranteed to score and do the none celebration celebration. Therefore we need two goals and I can’t see it as they will sit deeper than a cock in Debbie Dallas’s throat.
Oh God, heart palpitations…
It’s my birthday on Sunday, so we have to win. End of!
Unleash the ferocious pace!
WE WILL WIN!!!
COYG!!!
Really worried about how Flamini is going to cope with this one. I just feel he’s liable to do something stupid. But do we have any other viable options in that position?
I hope he adapts his tactics for this game.
If Sanchez, Cazorla and Ozil start we have an outside chance. But I fear Chelsea. I fear we’ll get miserably turned over. Thumb me down all you like but let’s be realistic here.
I can bet on my house that Costa would not score. I am sure Kos would keep him in his pocket like how he kept an animal with a biting problem!
I honestly hope Kos breaks Costa and mkes Jose regret playing him in midweek. A hamstring tear ruling him out for the season will do for me.
Chel$ki may just be the cuntiest team on Earth, but I think that’s a little extreme.
Every time I watch this fixture we lose. I’m not watching this time. You can thank me after when we win.
And now to reveal some Chelsea team news:
John Terry is a cunt.
I have a feeling Flamini will kick Mourinho in the nads before Sunday is over… and will get knighted for it
None of the media are giving us a chance. All think we are going to be humiliated.
So that means we are going to get beat heavily. Costa will score a hat trick, Fabregas will show up Ozil for being a waste of money and none of the Arsenal team can get into the Chelsea starting 11.
So goes the usual narrative.
