Wilshere vents fury at ‘lazy journalism’

Jack Wilshere has taken to social media to hit back at suggestions his ankles are ‘brittle’.

Rubbed up the wrong way by a Daily Mirror ‘article’ entitled ’11 things stronger than Jack Wilshere’s ankles’ the England international called out the journalist responsible via Instagram, pointing out that the tackle that left him requiring surgery could have broken his ankle.

Just for good measure he included a couple of gruesome shots of the moment Manchester United’ Paddy McNair made contact…

Here’s another one for you @bigrichinnes please feel free to challenge what I’m saying! #LazyJournalism Une photo publiée par Jack Wilshere (@jackwilshere) le

Despite biting his thumb in the direction of the Mirror’s Richard Innes, the journalist in question has yet to accept the offer of a duel on Hampstead Heath. Right now, given Jack’s in a cast and barely able to move it’s probably for the best.

As for the article in question…the less said the better. There are plenty of websites and writers on the internet that excel at ‘on point’, pithy take downs. It would appear that Mr. Innes does not.

Fair play to him. I think more ‘journalists’ should have shenanigans called on some of the bullshit that they write

George

Fair play to Jack on this one. Many might criticise him for taking the bait, but I wish more players would hit back at poor journalism like this. Get well soon, Master Wilshère.

YoungArse

I’m fed up of journalists writing whatever the hell they want without being accountable for it. The amount of crap that goes out on a daily basis is a joke, so it’s about time that somebody spoke out against them. Some will argue that Jack should be more professional and ignore it, but I disagree. He was coming into great form and has had another setback, so for somebody to so distastefully use his suffering to get a few cheap clicks is a shame, and Jack rightfully tells it how it is. Best of luck on your recovery, Jack. A… Read more »

Well done Jack!

So guys and girls… Who do you think we will sign in January?

The Only Olivier is Giroud

Good on you, Jack. First Ramsey and now Jack calling these sloppy bastards on their rubbish. Hopefully this will act as a deterrent for “writers” to publish such filth.

Ben

Alas, probably not! But an enforced season ticket at T*ttenham would do the trick…

Karl

When I saw the reply it looked bad, looks even worse on those stills!! Of course even on that Jack post you get a ManU supporting dickhead suggesting it’s a shame he didn’t snap his ankle!! Fucktard!!

Exiledgooner

A duel? Will the Arsenal Gentleman be his second? I wouldn’t mind having that splendid fellow backing me up.

Costa Gooner

His hashtag is # bigrichinnes must be because he’s a big fat lazy cunt who couldn’t do a proper days graft if his useless life depended on it. Let’s not call these fuckwits journalists it’s an insult to journalism, they’re moronic reporters with too much time on their hands.COYG

monkey knees

Terrible journalism. Do we expect anything more from that toilet of a paper?! Mcnair needs to be brought up on that challenge. It was horrible.

Refereeing in EPL is one of the worst in the world. Imagine with that kind of a tackle, it was not even a foul and thus it will continue to encourage players to be as clumsy as they want. I would think the referee of the match didn’t even feel any remorse for the bad decisions or no-decisions that he has allowed. That’s the spirit of the referees in EPL and what a shame as they continue to show no guilt for contributing towards ending careers of talented players.

assistantref

I’m not sure this is the best example of it, but it’s true that the EPL has the worst refs in any major European league. If only we were allowed to import foreign ref talent the way the clubs import foreign playing talent things could be so much better. Not just in terms of bad fouls but bad calls too. For the past 3 or so years the EPL ref pool has been a downright disgrace. Sending off the wrong young brown Arsenal player was probably the lowlight but the calls have been so bad that doesn’t even stand out… Read more »

Something like “next time your granny falls down the stairs will you have a ’10 things less brittle than your granny’s hip’ article Mr Innes?” might have actually hit home the message better but these prick journos are happy making money for nothing. It’s the editors and the agenda that need attacked. Plenty of cunts will be happy to pick up a pay-cheque for sitting at home writing bullshit for the papers

Andy Mack

Most football reporters are lazy liars!

And for the second instalment in the ‘No Shit Sherlock’ series;
All politicians are liars and cheats!.

Ben

Ha Ha, the third instalment is “T*ttenham are shite”.
And fourth could be “Brendan Rodgers loves himself because he spent too long with M*urinho”

Özil's Eyes on Arsene's Hot Thighs

The tackle could have been avoided. Wilshere was rubbish on the day; pushed the ball far too long and made what was an 80-20 ball 50-50. McNair went for it. It’s not the first or second time Wilshere has done this.

AHHHHHH

Bullshit! McNair wasn’t close enough to make that challenge. He had zero control. Whether or not Jack held it too long is beside the point. You can’t go sliding in like that unless you have a clear path to the ball. He was a step too far away for that to be the case.

Ben

Unfortunately didn’t see the challenge, but it looks harsh.
Get well soon Jack!

gunnerjoe

Just look at that tackle no card of any colour not even a free kick. So what could be the reason for this inept refs he did see it if so it’s strange that the has been no clamour for retrospective punishment for the Manu hatchet man oh sorry player.
Our the c*nts are all currupt our maybe both.

gunnerjoe

He did not see it…..

Arsepedant

It was Mike Dean, the most anti-Arsenal referee in a bunch of anti-Arsenal referees. I cringe every time that ubertwat is on one of our matches.

Sometimes the decisions against us are so appallingly inept that I wonder if there isn’t a special lecture in the EPL pre-season referee seminars entitled “All Referees Must Fuck Arsenal Up, And Here’s How To Do It”.

loose_cannon

Good on Wilshere for attacking lazy journalism and a lot of the press deserve it. But reading Richard Innes’s article….it’s is clearly tongue in cheek. I don’t think he meant anything by it. It’s not very nice, mind.

Angry goon

McNair should be punished severely and be banned for as long as Jack is sidelined. McNair is a cunt! Get well soon Jack.
