Trio of fixtures rearranged

Two more Arsenal matches have been selected for live broadcast by BT Sport in the UK resulting in three fixture changes.

The game with Sp*rs at Shite Hart Lane will now be live at 12.45pm on Saturday 7 February (previously a 3pm kick-off) and the visit of Everton will start at 2.05pm on Sunday 1 March (previously 28 February).

The knock on effect of the rescheduled fixture with the Toffees means the away match against QPR will now be played on Wednesday 4 March, 24 hours later than previously advertised. This game isn’t set to be on television.

Hopefully those changes won’t prove to be too inconvenient. It’s always a ball ache when you have to sack off important things – long-awaited surgery, your own wedding, jail, etc – just because the football has moved. Ho hum, needs must and all that.

Arsene's Zip

I was going to solve world hunger on 7 February, and I’m busy after that. Oh well, that’ll have to wait.

Le Jim

Still find it funny how shit British coverage of the Premier League is. Australia has every game, every week! Aus-fucking-tralia! We are *that* close to falling off the earth, and no one would give a shit if we did, but we still have better coverage. Get it together lads <3

David

same thing in Canada! I can watch almost every game live. I think I read somewhere that the league thought no one would attend games in UK if they had the option to watch them all live…

Hodog

It’s not the Premier League attendances they’re worried about, it’s the lower leagues. There is an inverse correlation between live games and lower league attendances.

It’s still bollocks though. If people would prefer to watch sport on their TV then let them!

Gutbukket Deffrolla

Easily fixed. Play all lower league games at 9 a.m. Even midweek matches.

Arsepedant

Yep, our coverage in Canada is fantastic. We’ve got two sports networks, one with seven channels and one with five, and the cost to subscribe to all twelve channels is about the same as what Brits pay just for Sky. Any match not shown live is shown on tape-delay a couple hours later, and most matches are shown at least twice over the course of the weekend. We’re spoilt here! On another note, I’m sure glad I booked my flight back from from London for Monday March 2. I thought “just in case the Everton game gets moved …” Phew!… Read more »

So does Nigeria for that matter. I can’t remember the last time an Arsenal match was NOT televised here.

South African satellite company DSTV offers similar coverage across Africa and the Middle East through its Supersport channels. But, we have one major advantage over Canada and Australia in South Africa, we have only a 2 hour time difference with the UK (1hour during daylight saving).

Arsepedant

True about the time difference. The regular 3:00p Saturday afternoon is 7:00a here on the West Coast, which means setting the alarm for 5:30a if I want to get downtown to the pub by about 6:45a. But at least we have a pub here which is willing to open up that early on a Saturday morning for us, and put out a decent full English breakfast to boot (if you are reading this and you are in the Lower Mainland, please join us at The Pint 455 Abbott Street). Unfortunately that 12:45p kick-off for the Spurms match is 4:45a here,… Read more »

I didn’t realise before looking at that photo just now how long Koscielny has been with us. He must have been injured during the Graham and Invincibles years…

Arsepedant

Judging by that TV camera, I’d say more like the McLintock and first double years!

John Scarratt

more Sunday games!!! Christ, at this rate we’ll be lucky to have 2 Saturday afternoon fixtures before April!!

This essentially means that whoever my jury duty will cover, must be found guilty as quickly as possible…….

GoonerN16

Or innocent?

n11gooner

the coverage in the uk is perfect…. dont pay the thieves at sky and just watch it on a stream. ATDHE.net always works for me and I never miss a match
