Aaron Ramsey is a happy man this morning after Wales qualified for the European Championship finals in 2016.
Despite losing 2-0 to Bosnia-Herzgovina, the Welsh will take part in their first international tournament since the World Cup in 1958. It’s an achievement that has left the Arsenal midfielder delighted on a personal and collective level.
“What a great moment for Welsh football. For me personally, and for all the players, what an achievement to make history and we’re finally going to a major tournament,” he told Sky Sports News last night.
“It’s not going to sink in for a while but I’m just so proud personally, for all my teammates and for everyone associated with this country. We’re finally going.
“This has been a dream of mine, to try and get Wales to a major finals, and we’re finally doing it. To fulfil that dream, we’re only a small nation, I’m over the moon. To all the supporters and everybody who backed us, we’re finally there.”
It means increased Arsenal interest in next summer’s finals, which is always a good thing. Well done, Welshers.
Pleased for him. Always been weird watching Euros/WC without the talents of the great Aaron Ramsey and that other chap Bale.
Read that as chimp. I might feel a little bit guilty when I finally stop laughing.
It’s shit from a gunners point of view . I would be very happy if all gunners retired from international football. Aaron will be handed back to us broken after euros.
Croeso!! I’m well chuffed x
Kinda mixed about this. Happy for Ramsey obviously but it also means the chimpanzee that used to play down the road is also happy.
Ha, he deserted Sp*rs as soon as he could, no reason to hate him anymore in my view.
You do realise he spectacularly burnt his bridges with Spurs fans by wishing Theo and Aaron good luck in the FA Cup final? He probably has more friends at Arsenal than at Spurs now.
Theres something wrong with calling another man a chimp. Regardless of who he played for before. It is just classless..
But he does look like one. A Welsh one at that and that IS quite funny. I quite like him though and wish him and the rest of the team all the best for the European Cup.
Well done Wales!
I want perfect teeth like Aaron’s.
What mighty Giggs could not do.
…alone. Even Maradona needed 10 other argentines worth their salt in ’86.
