Walcott and Mustafi react to Ludogrets win

Theo Walcott and Shkodran Mustafi spoke to BT Sport following the 6-0 win over Ludogorets in the Champions League this evening.

Here’s what they had to say.

Walcott on his goal and performance

TW: Obviously the goals are fantastic, but the first thing we say as a team is to keep a clean sheet and we did that. The performances are coming.

They started very strongly, and they have a lot of techincally very good players. The scoreline might make it look like it was easy but no! It was far from easy. We can be proud o fthat and look forward to the weekend now.

What Wenger said at half-time

TW: We always want to take our chances, and today we took pretty much all of them. We needed to make sure we started the second half strongly, and it’s worked out today.

Everyone was very focused, ruthless and it’s a great result going into the weekend. The whole team is flying with confidence at this moment.

On competition for places

SM: If you wanna fight for big competitions like the Champions League or the Premier League you need more than 11 players. That’s what we keep saying every day, in training, that we need all of the people.

Not just the ones who start, we need the medical staff, coaches, everything. It’s all about details – that’s what helps you win games and the players who came in showed they’re part of the team and they gave everything.

Getting beyond round of 16 and finishing top of the group

The past is the past, we need to focus on now. We can’t be looking too far ahead, so we’ll cross that bridge when we come to it. There’s still a lot to do with some tough away games, who knows.

We’d obviously like to finish top, but obviously we need to keep performing to achieve that goal. If we keep performing like tonight it’ll help achieve that goal.

Feooo… does anyone else get the feeling that he has about 5 recorded post-match interview responses that he triggers by pressing buttons and combining different parts of them to form a seemingly new one?
Anywho. Don’t mind him repeating his answers one bit as long as he repeats these performances.

leroy

i wish the players would toy with the interviewers. the questions are all so lame anyways. interviewer: theo, tell us a bit about your goal. theo: yeah, he’s a fantastic manager and we love playing for him. i think he recorded his 100th european victory tonight so that’s very special. interviewer: no, i meant your goal. can you describe the shot for us? theo: well, if i had to pick just one of his three goals, i’d say his first goal was my favourite. his first touch was sublime. it was a magnificent hat trick. interviewer: maybe you’re not hearing… Read more »

Andy Mack

They all do.

Lord Bendtner

As we speak the Arseblog bees are buzzing and working hard to bring us the player ratings

Bendtner's Ego

Just give them all 9’s and 10’s.

Done. Sorted.

Naveen Kumar Boggarpu

I have to say that our pressing game is not good. Especially, we were very slow in pressing and not well co-ordinated.

TT

we just won 6-0…some people have to find something to complain about.

mc1892

I thought our pressing was exceptional, bar that slightly dodgy 15 minutes in the first half where they had a few chances. Second half was probably the best I’ve ever seen an Arsenal team press from the front, and that’s the best I’ve seen us come out after half time for as long as I can remember. Word for Coquelin; think it was the best game I’ve seen from him as an all round performance. Thought his distribution with both feet was very, very good.

Arsepedant

I think you must have been watching the Schitty – Barcelona match.

Campbell's forehead

I thought I pressing was done well today. Yeah we did give away chances but I think that’s due more to the very high line we played. This got rectified in the second half anyway.

Granit(e) hard!

Jeeeeez, give it a rest!…………….6 – 0 scoreline, could have been 10 -0 with the amount of chances created, can’t you be happy for once?

Runzac

32 goals we’ve scored this season in three competitions

Naija Gunner

Wow that’s wonderful, COYG!!!!

Arsepedant

In just 12 matches.

And if you count the pre-season and the end of last season, we have one loss in our last 26 matches in all competitions.

Vescucci

Up the arse

Sideshow_bob

We are playing very well, just need to stay grounded. Never get overconfident and hopefully this season turns into something amazing
Ps: Watching bald Pep crash and burn like this is really fun ?

Naija Gunner

Lets just keep this up

Hard_Coq

I’m totally over my top ?

Cas

At this rate we may have 4 players scoring 15+ goals this season with Sanchez, Theo and Ozil already sailing. Giroud will surely have his word.

VICTOR

Comment: Who is complaining again? Aha! You’re still not satisfied?! Our boys have done well enough, played the game the way it presented itself and six goals for us…..Kudos to you all gunners. Victories like that will take us very far this season.

Campbell's forehead

I thought Coquelin was brilliant today, would love to know how many interceptions he made. He was making tackles and interceptions in the oppositions half all game, I feel this is a key reason why we scored so many goals.

Little Mozart

I rather enjoyed that.

gfd

Theo looks pretty happy. nice to see. COYG!
