Will that be the first EPL game of the season then? Sorry, I know I’m on the internet but I can’t be arsed to check.

Roy

Sky & BT are cunts.

Goonie

I really struggle to understand why there is no Netflix style subscription service for sports. I hope Amazon jump into the bidding war next time negotiations begin, more competition is needed. I don’t want my money to be pocketed by a Murdoch.

ElvisMozart

There is DAZN. But you need a VPN for Germany, Austria or Switzerland if u want to use it in UK.
DAZN = 10€/month (Two devices can stream simultaneously )
VPN = 3€/month

ChicagoGooner9

Here in the states, NBC just announced in order to watch all games, you need to pay 50 USD for their streaming services. Each team will have at least 6 games on the stream only. This service used to be free….

arsepedant

Luckily for us here in Canada, if you already subscribe to Sportsnet and TSN through your cable company, then access to online streaming for those channels is free. Unluckily for most of us, though, nearly all of the Arsenal matches are on the “specialty” Sportsnet and TSN channels, which aren’t included in your basic cable package – you have to pay extra for them. At least you get them on both your home TV and whatever computer or mobile device you are using.

goongot

off topic but do you guys really think we should pay 300k plus of wages to sanchez?i mean thats ronaldo, messi territory !!!i for one thought sanchez is holding us out for lack of ambition but him asking bayern a huge salary just goes on to say that he’s being greedy…I wouldn’t care if we go on to sell sanchez to mancity for 50 plus millions provided we straight away pay that money to monaco and get lemar…for all his goals and assists i believe sanchez brings a certain doom to team morale and atmosphere while playing…

Kwame Ampadu Down

I’d much, much rather pay 250k+ to Sanchez than I would to Ozil, I know that much.

Jim2wheels

No point having a fast car without a steering wheel.

Kwame Ampadu Down

No point having a steering wheel that’s smooth as silk most of the time, but then always sticks when you need it most.?

dennis

With you on that tho. Ozil can do one if he wants to blackmail the Club. Tell him he won.t play again for us until he signs a new contract. Or he can look for a club to pay a good fee for him

Kwame Ampadu Down

He won’t find one though, the demand isn’t there. I’d rather withdraw the contract offer & let him go on a free next year if he wants to. That sort of money you pay for elite players who produce at big moments in big games. Ozil isn’t one, Alexis is. (Imo obviously)

ForeignGooner

There’s plenty of evidence against your opinion.

Kwame Ampadu Down

Plenty for it too.

Godfrey Twatsloch

No there isn’t.

Who says Özil is trying to blackmail the club over his new contract?

Harish P

If I was to think like Arsenal, I’d say it’s cheaper to pay that for known and already fitted in guaranteed quality then to pay up for a new player who would need to to settle etc and cost an exorbitant amount up front also.

It would mean that other players could ask for more money, but then right now we only have Özil in that position, regardless of what some fans feel. I think for the immediate future it should be okay to pay for Alexis, but after that I’m not so sure.

Nachos in Montreal

The rumors of Sanchez demanding obscene wages come from the Mirror, and seeing how they claimed we weren’t going to sign Lacazette on Sunday, you can Guess their credibility

Dawn

So where is Sanchez denial?

dennis

And he gives the ball away on an infuriatingly regular basis. I.m not bothered if he goes to City if they pay top dollar and we reinvest it

uncle D

Friday! We just broke another record! Never seen an EPL match played on a Friday before

Phil Senderos

We played Newcastle on a Friday once. We scored late on. It rained.

Goonerest Gooner

T’was the Invincibles season, the game after the Battle of Old Trafford.
We played twice more on a Friday that season, “that” game against Liverpool (Henry hat-trick) and a week later against Leeds (Henry scores 4)

Bryanclayden

You don’t follow the premier league much then lol.About 8 Friday night matches last season

uncle D

My bad!

Hamburg Gooner

Leeds United in the unbeaten season. 5-0 with a hattrick by a certain Frenchman upfront

Martin

We won the First division championship in 1989 with famous Michael Thomas goal in last few seconds. That was played on a Friday evening

78/79/80

I remember going to the pub after and dancing on the tables.

Vnet

There also used to be a section on arsenal.com for Friday game goals about 10 years ago

Chippys chip

Think we played one friday at anfield may 26 1989.

Cliff Bastin

Well at least it won’t matter to Mahrez ???

Alex Palo

Yes!! My wedding is on the 12th this, couldnt have turned out better for this Arsenal fan 🙂

Berlingoon

To start the season under floodlights isn’t the worst thing, if you ask me. Better than our usual Saturday morning kick offs.

GunnerDareMKD

Well, we are always drawing or losing the first game of the new season so Maybe Friday will bring us smashing LC 4-0 with Lacca scoring double. I like this change as everyone who is slating lacca that he comes from farmes league will eat their words as will not miss the opener of the PL and our game on Fri.

And when he scores the will be really jelous.

Marcus

Jaysus. Good luck to the travelling away fans/fans outside of London wishing to see Arsenal and needing time off work to go watch a PL game. I also think that spreading out the PL fixtures from Friday – Monday, with Champions League and Europa League Tuesday-Thursday just kills the excitement of watching a game as there is football on ALL THE TIME. Fuck Sky & BT.

Tom Gun

I don’t get this argument. We have had Monday and midweek football for years. London to Leicester by train takes 1 hour. Not a problem at all!

It is a problem when the fuckers schedule Brighton/Southampton v Newcastle/Swansea at these times. Otherwise it’s a crap argument.

Personally I love Friday night football as it’s either the start of a great night out or a great way to relax after a long week at work.

Marcus

Fair point about the travel arrangements (thought Leicester was further away). Friday night football might turn out to be great but I personally disagree with how broadcasters have spread the games out which has resulted in constant coverage. When there is football on most days of the week (every day if Friday night football becomes a regular feature), it ends up saturating my general football interest. When there’s a break for a couple of days it tends to create excitement and anticipation which I think is important.

charmin

speak for yourself mate… I quite like the idea and it also might help with our europa commitments

GraeB

Hate it! Will hate it even more next seadon when they start the Saturday night games too: 5.30 was bad enough but 7.45 too?

We better win the league this season, cant see me renewing ST next.

David Hillier\'s luggage

I agree with your sentiments on away travel, however I’m not a fan of Thursday or Friday night football – it eats into a couple of days where many like to socialise.

My mother loves Martin Keown

Does anyone know if there is reason to expect a rescheduling of the match against Bournemouth on Sep 9th? From what I can tell regarding dates for the cups etc., that shouldn’t be the case, but I’d be glad to hear your views, as I’m planning to travel to the UK for that particular match. Thanks!

GunnerDareMKD

Are you a Bournemouth fan ?

GraeB

No reason at all for it to change now.

Sylent Syd

They seriously could not have picked one of the other 8 fixtures which don’t have a team playing in the Charity Shield match the previous Sunday?

Michael

I fuckin knew this would happen. Been planning a trip to Europe for a while now. Set our dates after the initial schedule came out, knew the dates could still change. Bought two red memberships yesterday, and now these tv knob heads move the dates. Won’t even be in Europe for the damn game. Guess I’ll have to wait even longer for my first Arsenal game.

AlbZ

We’ll be top of the league from Day One!

Chippys chip

Thanks a feckin lot sky. Wankers fecked my season up already.

Chippys chip

*Feckin. Not fecked, yet.

GraeB

As always! At least with Mickey Mouse Europe we can more accurately predict games to take place on Sundays (except when they move to Monday!)

I guess even Sky wont be able to make us play Fridays after MME games on Thursdays.
