Report: Bremen like the look of Wellington’s not so inflamed pubis

According to ESPN Brazil, Arsenal could yet turn a profit on Wellington Silva this summer with Werder Bremen the latest club pontificating over an offer.

As we’ve been reporting over the last few weeks, the Gunners have provisionally exercised an option to re-sign the Brazilian attacker from cash-strapped Fluminense with a view to flogging him to a European club, making a bit of cash and including a sell-on clause.

The 24-year-old, who spent six years at the Emirates without making a single first team appearance, looked set to sign for Bordeaux last week for £5 million until he failed a medical due to a pesky inflamed pubis.

Wellington promptly returned to Fluminense, underwent further tests and with the injury deemed not serious he’s again being touted to potential suitors. Bremen seem to like what they see and having lost Serge Gnabry inside 12 months to Bayern Munich, they’re on the lookout for an attacking midfielder.

Quite what Wellington makes of his circumstances is a mystery, however, after loan spells at Levante, Ponferradina, Real Murcia, Alcoyano, Almeria and Bolton Wanderers he’s certainly used to moving around a lot.

It’s worth making clear at this point, that Arsenal won’t be lumbered with the player if he doesn’t complete a move from Fluminense in the coming weeks. Instead, he’ll return to Brazil and continue his career there.

Shit. It’s Bayern again!

A Silva lining…

Is that an inflamed pubis or are you just pleased to see me?

It’s what Tony Pulis calls his when he’s showering with the lads.

Surely we’ve quietly lost a fair bit of cash on this guy. Very strange story.

Instead of the 1.5 million profit, why don’t we insert a cheap buy back clause on his Bremen deal?

Pondering rather than pontificating I think.

A different George

Yes, but that is Pedant’s job.

Igbo Amadi-Obi

I find it quite interesting that folks are still interested in discussing this.

Inevitable response: “I find it quite interesting that you still find it interesting that folks are still interested in discussing this.”

Stop me before I kill again.

Gutbukkit Deffrolla

At first I thought you were joking, but then I realised you are not the original George.

That type of headline is why I love this site!

“Arsenal won’t be lumbered”

Lumbered? Bitch I want him to stay.

Spanish Gooner

feel sorry for the kid, how anybody can expect him to achieve his potential when he’ll have been sent to 8 clubs since 2010 is beyond me

Third Plebeian

That’s a rather fetching candy cane top he’s wearing. Someone get in touch with Puma!

Booted out! Arsenal looking for Beefy return on Wellington

Go fill your boots Wellington

As long as this deal doesn’t include any kind of contract between player and our club, this might actually materialize. Yes, I take a long shot at our so called stringent wage policy here, in practise looking fringe players in and kicking star players out. My pubis gets severly inflamed every time it comes to mind

Hard to get excited anymore about young signings unless they are a higher profile signing when they are young like Ox, Ramsey and Walcott. So many never pan out like Wellington, Beilik (whom by this point looks like he’ll never make the first team) and countless others.

Arsenal did not resign the lad, AFC have a 45% sell on clause in original deal with Fluminense, in return for a smaller sale fee. If Fluminense sell him AFC get 45% of the fee. AFC have no part in selling him.

What a nomad.
