Liam Brady takes up role with player management agency

Having left his ambassadorial role with Arsenal in May, Liam Brady has taken up a new position with sports agency Platinum One.

The playing legend and former head of the Arsenal academy’s long association with the club came to an end earlier this year, but there’s something of an Arsenal flavour to the new position.

The company’s executives include former Gunners Paolo Vernazza and fellow Irishman Graham Barrett, both of whom were products of the youth system under Brady’s tenure.

In a statement, the left-footed wizard said, “When I finished with Arsenal my ambition was to undertake one more meaningful role within football.

“I had not anticipated working in a representation agency but I particularly enjoy watching young players and trying to guide them and their families as they progress into the professional ranks; this made Platinum One quite a natural fit.

“While I only left Arsenal last May, I finished working with the Academy in 2014; I have known Fintan Drury for over 25 years and some other senior executives in Platinum One since they were young players.

“The company endeavours to always go about its work centred on the player’s best interest which was the most critical consideration for me in taking on this role and I am excited about the challenge of contributing to its continued growth and success.”

Brady still appears regularly as a pundit on RTE television in Ireland.

I thought I remembered Paolo Vernazza getting done for doing something dodgy.

Makes you wonder if he was into anything dicey when he got stabbed, way back when.

Dont want to be cynical about our Liam but he has left arsenal when we are in a potential decline to work in the agent business when agents are now getting fees previously reserved for the clubs of the players they represent.
Wish him luck and hope his ‘doing it to protect the kids’ schtick is the truth and not some honeypot pr quote.

Not at all. Think he’s earned the right to do whatever he wants.

Your comment is beyond cynical; cheap & nasty too. Desperately poor comments to make about an arsenal legend & one of the most decent men in football.

Number seven is Liam Brady.
