Arsenal have bolstered their Academy ranks with the acquisition of Joel Lopez, Sam Greenwood and Karl Hein.
Each has signed scholarship terms with the club and will now challenge for minutes with Kwame Ampadu’s under-18s this season.
Lopez – a 16-year-old left-back – has been signed from Barcelona’s La Masia academy, Greenwood – an England youth international striker – arrives from Sunderland, while Hein – an Estonian goalkeeper – joined in May from homeland outfit FC Nomme United where he was managed by ex-Gunner Mart Poom.
Greenwood has already featured for the under-18s who’ve started their season with wins against Aston Villa and Brighton.
Exciting times for all three teenagers who’ll be hoping to work their way to the first team dressing room at London Colney over the coming years.
Best of luck to them.
I’ve not seen Lopez play but I hope he makes it.
The fullback market is crazy right now, and we seem reluctant to take part.
Our last left back and our last right back were both free transfers!
So there’s something exciting about the prospect of another high potential full back stolen from Barcelona and getting into our first team.
Barca is our feeder club.
Hope Lopez replaces Monreal in two years. Hope Greenwood becomes our very our Aguero or Kane.
have you seen them play?
He probably hasn’t. Hence the word “Hope”
Fuckin hell man, careful with your words. I’m eating breakfast. Aguero I can deal with.
