Mkhitaryan remains a doubt for Rennes clash

According to the latest fitness update provided by the medical staff, Henrikh Mkhitaryan remains a doubt for tomorrow night’s clash with Rennes.

With the Gunners 3-1 down from the first leg, having as many attacking players available as possible is crucial to turning the tie around, but having missed out on Sunday’s 2-0 win over Man Utd in the Premier League, the Armenian will be assessed before a final decision is made.

We might get a better idea later when Unai Emery meets the press, and when training photos become available, but it would be a boost if he did make it.

Arsenal were also boosted yesterday by the availability of Alex Lacazette after his three game suspension was reduced to two, and having served both of those already he could line up again alongside Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

Emery does have plenty to choose from even if Mkhitaryan doesn’t make it, with Mesut Ozil, Aaron Ramsey, Alex Iwobi and Denis Suarez all in the squad.

Hopefully we see another attacking team selection from the boss, it worked against United and hopefully it can see us through to the next round of the Europa League too.

We’ll have more updates from the manager and the press conference later today.

Good news for Lacazette + Dubai trip and Greek defender larks

Hoping we can get our Miki out.

Hope Mhiki is OK. He has been in great form lately. An important player for us in the run in.

Hantal

Not that long ago this wouldn’t have been an issue but his recent form has been excellent

He’ll be fine…. hopefully

I like Mkhi he’s clearly a talented player and he’s been able to hush some of the haters recently.

However I would love to see Denis take his place tomorrow night and play a blinder. I think it’s about time he broke out of his shell and shows us what he’s about.

I, with no proof at all, believe that he will be made a permanent member of the squad and I believe in him! (providing he plays the afore-mentioned blinder tomorrow night)

Hantal

If he’s joining us I hope he does something, he’s added precisely nothing to the squad so far besides a wage bill

Off topic though…but that sokratis and mavrapanos picture got me wishing…..I’m sure you guys know what I’m talking about..so no need for me to talk much

Hantal

I hope mavro gets a game or two at some point so we can see what he can do (last seasons game and a bit aren’t enough to make a judgement)

True, especially as Mustafi has tried his best to prove time and again that he is not dependable. I am quite sure it is why he was left out of the United match, and if Holding had not had that season ending injury, he would have played less and less. He has some good games, as well as scores some important goals from set pieces, but his unsteadiness, and silly mistakes are very frustrating to watch. He needs a lot of bench time, but injuries have not been kind in that area. Oh well, best of luck to him in… Read more »

We are so happy for lacazette’s coming back and Micki should start because his is not bad

George

What’s wrong with him?

Santori

Either play Laca and Auba supported by Ozil or okay Laca supported by both Iwobi and Ozil.

Lots of options to break a Rennes down.

Also imo useful to have Iwobi and Kolasinac on one flank.

Plus I’d play AMN at Rback.

Sure there’s a short turn around but it’s a big break after Thursday.
