Need a draw to go above Sp*rs alphabetically. But hoping we can start getting away wins against the top half of the table, we need them to get into the CL. Come on you reds…

Goonereality

True. I very much doubt we’ll win all the remaining games but we need to try and get something out of all of them if possible. It would be a big boost to start this crucial run-in with a win and we’ve a reasonable record at Goodison Park.

C.B.

Elneny starting. He hasn’t played much so hope he isn’t too rusty.

Gunner90

Elneny is going at the end of the season as he is considered not good enough for the first team! Too many of our top players are missing so a draw is the very best we can expect. Gunner 90

Goonereality

Elneny is probably on his way in the Summer but let’s hope he does well today. A draw will be the least we should try and get of course, especially as we’re at the beginning of the crucial run-in. Our away form is a worry, but this is the time we need to reverse that.

yen

Time to show ’em who the rightful king of Egypt is, Mo.

Here’s me hoping Sokratis doesn’t pick up a yellow.

COYG!

Anonymarse

Here’s me hoping Mustafi doesn’t Mustafi

Goonereality

Yes, despite his supporters on this site, he is clearly a weak link because he’s in such an important position but is so inconsistent. Although several other players have shown noticeable improvement under Emery this season, Mustafi hasn’t. Saying he’ll improve – as some Gooners do here (regularly) – hasn’t worked so far, but there’s still time for him to get his act together for this crucial run-in. Fingers crossed.

Anonymarse

I rewatched the last game yesterday and he was pretty awful

He certainly can be good but the number of times he gives the ball away, the number of risky tackles he makes and the number of times he is caught out of position it’s not surprising he costs us dearly sometimes

Santorini

Mo to belt one into the top corner

Drew

Let’s do this Arsenal, Strong Line-up with some big players to come off the bench. A win today will set us up nicely for the rest of the away fixtures.

Stephen

Suarez not starting?!? Rabble rabble rabble!

Goonereality

No offence to Suarez, but is there much point in having him even on the bench now? Thank goodness we haven’t bought him!

Jack

Would’ve preferred Ramsey over Elneny 1 thousand percent but I guess they don’t want to risk it

Ordnance Dave

Is Elneny any better at defending than when Ramsey plays with discipline?

Eternal Titi Berg Pat Nostalgia

El Neny is better at defending.

Hantal

Elneny and guendouzi is a new combo. Going to lots of ball chasing but not a lot of creativity there

Anonymarse

Hopefully we will have enough creativity with Ozil, Mkhi and Laca 🙂

Vonnie

Nice to see we’re playing in red and white and Mesut starts, like a home game. Let’s do this!

Sue

Yes I agree…. no green kit ??

Drew

Theo on the bench for them

John Moran

Emery giving Ozil the chance to shine here.

Giuseppe Hovno

I trust in Unai (even if this lineup seems mental)

Twatsloch

COYG!

Sue

After seeing this line up I’m a little nervous

goonero

If this is really some kind of Mesut 2.0, putting the work in for Emery’s vision a big performance today will go a long way to shutting his critics up.

Billy Bob

I think we will win today but that it will be tight ? would be nice to break the away day blues over the remaining five away games and set us in good stead for next season ?

Billy Bob

Actually, judging by the first half hour, perhaps I was overly optimistic!!! Now have a bad feeling about this match!!!

Goonereality

It’s a strong selection. Elneny could be seen as a surprise though. We need cool heads, no stupid bookings and concentration, concentration, concentration – which has been lacking in several away games this season. If we’re going to do it, now’s the time.

CLEGooner

Torreira hurt?

Elnenny and the dooz? Color me shitting it.

Vonnie

Torreira still suspended.

scott rice

Suspended.

Rochester

Torreira still banned

Nameless_Gooner

Torriera suspension ends today?

Badaab

Mohammad Elneny sighting!

Hantal

Our players looking a bit pissed off, lots of remonstrations at each other twenty minutes in.
Really need to calm things down

Anonymarse

Getting spanked right now not good

Hantal

Better since half time but feel it’s going to be one of those days

Anonymarse

Certainly looks that way

GoonerJust

Elneny…? Really….

GoonerJust

Get. Ramsey in!

Ben

Yeah, weak in the middle… no creativity or drive. Need someone to link up with Laca and Mikhi as well

Make Arsenal Great Again

Never seen a more shocking performance from a professional footballer than I’m seeing from Maitland-Niles today

Miguel

I’ve seen Eboue do worse. No need to pick on the youngster. Team not clicking.

Billy Bob

Be lucky to get a draw!!!

Leon

Arsenal just proving why they will not qualify for the champions league.
Not created a single half decent chance.
Very poor with so much at stake – just proving everyone right in thinking they are bottlers…

SB Still

Their goal keeper didn’t even have a make a bloody save!

Santori

We lack structure in our attack and the final ball always seem to be missing. We didn’t look hungry enough.

It looked more likely they would score than us in the second half.

Santori

I agree.

He is WAY too casual today.

Sue

We were absolute ? today… no MOTM for me. Hang your heads in shame, got another 4 away games yet…. who knows where we’ll finish
#embarrassing

Santori

Embarrassing.

Such a lack of urgency.

Over complicated play building from the back and the midfield went missing.

Plus every time we were in final third there was a distinct lack of concentration and structure as we conspired to give the ball away or lose it again and again.

Don’t deserve to win today.

Leon

What a rubbish performance.
Didn’t even bother to turn up.
Build up momentum then mess it up.
That is what you get when you leave your best players out…
We won’t qualify – just don’t have the mettle for it…

Usmanov

I thought we had some of our best players on the pitch today…

Hantal

We were shit.
Once again after a good performance we don’t turn up. Too many players arguing amongst themselves and blaming others when we needed someone/anyone to stand up and take control of the game.
The half time subs looked good for five minutes then Ramsay faded out of the game and I forgot Aubameyang was even on the pitch.
We had a huge opportunity to cement third place and didn’t even look like we were trying

Santori

Big mistake not to start Ramsey. As it is far too casual today. Particularly AMN. But lack of impetus going forward. Far too slow with build up from the back without Granit. And when we get it up to the final third, we lack structure. No effort to work the ball better for the final pass. We hardly registered any efforts at goal. Iwobi should have started as well. Came on to provide a bit more spark but then also fizzled out as we lost belief far too easily. Midfield of Ramsey and Guendouzi poor showing for the ball for… Read more »

James

Fuck off Arsenal. You bunch of soft cocks. Pathetic from everyone apart from Iwobi.

Nothing’s changed. We will be 6th.

Anyone who honestly thought we would be in the top 4 have never seen us away this season.

Bunch of weak-willed posers who tweet and Snapchat when they win at home but have no guts or ability away.

Everton are shit but we had one soft header on target in a must-win game.

Away fans should get on their back more because it’s unacceptable

Usmanov

For a start, I think our strikers (Auba and Laca) were a lot less intense today.. and that is a big issue considering that their intensity on and off the ball (Laca’s especially) is crucial to how we win games.
