Dani Ceballos has revealed he’s on track to be fit for Arsenal’s trip to Bournemouth on Boxing Day.
Via his social media channels, Ceballos revealed: “There’s almost no time left! Boxing Day is my goal! 8 days until I’m back with the team!”
The Spain international has been sidelined by a hamstring problem picked up in the 1-1 draw with Vitoria on 6 November and has missed seven games so far.
Sunday’s game with Manchester City and the trip to Everton will also pass him by before he gets a chance to impress interim head coach Freddie Ljungberg.
Prior to his injury, Ceballos made 17 appearances, registering two assists and scoring one goal.
Curious to see how Freddie sees him fitting into this team. I can only really think of him a one of a midfield 3, but lacks the positional discipline to be played with an equally undisciplined Guendouzi. I’ll be honest, I love how classy he looks with the ball, but that’s not to speak to his effectiveness using it.
I could see him replacing Xhaka, and playing him alongside Torreira. Lucas as pure DM and Ceballos playing the Santi’s role (doing a job when we need defending but mostly being there to link defense and attack)
Welcome back. COYG
Almost completely forgot he was playing for us this season! Hopefully he can help bolster our midfield.
Welcome back Dani! We need all the help we can get
