Leeds FA Cup third round date confirmed

The football Gods hate us. There’s no way not to come to that conclusion.

In a season where it feels like we’ve had more than our fair share of Monday night kick-offs, we’ve got another one for our FA Cup third round clash with Leeds.

The game will take place on Monday, January 6th, with a kick off time of 7.55.

We have a Monday night kick off next week too when we face West Ham in the Premier League, and we’ve already faced Sheffield United and Manchester United on a Monday this season.

The Bangles famously sang, “I was kissin’ Valentino, by a crystal blue Italian stream” in their Prince-penned classic Manic Monday.

Well, this is no romantic interlude with Rudolph, let me tell you. This is being tied down while an angry donkey licks your face.

Anyway, it’s not happening till next year, so let’s wait to get really cheesed off about it then.

On the twelfth day of Christmas Freddie Ljungberg gave to me, twelve Leeds clearcut chances, eleven players looking frozen, ten Leno’s leaping, nine nasty looking injuries, eight unnecessary Xhaka fouls, seven incorrect var decisions, six Arsenal players trying, five Laca’s screaming, four shots on goal, three of them off target, two completed Kolasinac passes and an Eddie Nketiah winning goal.

These midweek games are particularly annoying for those of us in locales where they are smack in the middle of the work day…

I miss so damn many matches that way, it seems. At least on the weekend I can get up at 5 am to watch. I can’t take a three hour lunch during the week!

guess that’s another game I cant go to

What’s the problem with Monday night games? They’re ideal; they free up the whole weekend so you can get other stuff done without having to revolve the day around 2 hours, and they give something to look forward to that evening when you got the Monday morning blues going to work in dark and freezing conditions. I love a Monday night game.

Kick off time is actually 7:56; the one minute delay is to raise awareness for mental health.

Well a bit more TV money will be useful considering the lack of European football next season. And if you want to look at unfair, look at Newcastles Monday night games for the last 12 months! At least we’re at home. In all seriousness though, if they want Monday/Friday night games, they need to look at the fixtures. Arsenal v West ham, probably fine, arsenal v Sheffield United when there’s no trains after 9pm, stupid. Although maybe that’s why they pick those games, less fans will go and will boost sky’s viewing figures.
