Sead Kolasinac is progressing well in his recovery from a thigh strain and could even be considered for Sunday’s trip to Burnley.
The Bosnian international has been sidelined since he completed 90 minutes against Crystal Palace on 11 January but is on the mend, according to the latest bulletin from the medical team.
While Bukayo Saka has done well covering at left-back, it’ll be a bonus to have Kolasinac back in contention. Realistically, he’s unlikely to be risked this weekend leaving him to fully recover during our winter break.
As we reported the other day, Shkodran Mustafi’s ankle injury isn’t as bad as first feared. He only suffered a sprain and was pictured in training yesterday suggesting he’s in contention for this weekend.
We have David Luiz back from suspension and new boy Pablo Mari gives us another option, so we don’t have to make a hasty decision on that front.
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is also back from suspension after his three game ban.
Reiss Nelson won’t feature until after the winter break. Kieran Tierney is still a month from returning to full training and Calum Chambers is out for the foreseeable future.
Good news all round by the sounds of it, Come on the Arsenal
And the world is a brighter place.
Come on Mari let’s see your quality this weekend
Can’t see him starting this weekend.
Shkodrannaissance
Things looking good. I sense we are on the verge of a pretty decent run of form.
(off topic)
FFS Giroud No! Don’t do it!
All Gallas fault…..
Who cares about Giroud anymore. After he won the trophy with Chelsea he spit in our faces. Ox was class when he won a trophy and gave respect to Arsenal.
BTW And
BTW Andrew……….that photo is inappropriate……….players faces tell me we have just conceded!
i won’t have it I tell you!?. Not anymore.
The Bosnian recovering like a boss…. He’s not called the Tank for nothing. Glad he’s nearly back with us! Speedy recovery to the rest of em!
I wish we could go for a win this time round at least we need to cover the ten points gap asap so vasvto feature in the champions league next season and get more prolific players
Anyone explain to me how is David Luis available after the straight red card…
1 game ban
The length of a suspension for a player shown a red card varies according to the severity of the foul.
For example, a sending off due to a second yellow card will result in a one-match ban, as will a red card received for a professional foul.
(From Goal.com)
The red card was for a professional foul (1 game ban) not violent conduct (3 games ban) like Auba
Luiz
I like the fact that we made important loan deals. This will give us a chance to strengthen properly in the summer if these players are not at the level required by Arteta.
It’s strange how we are trying to sort problems out all of a sudden.
Thank you onenil, I didn’t know that
More like a full house. Excellent
