Great starting line up. But where has Ceballos gone?

canon fodder

He’s just back from a hamstring tear; he is back in training but the situation has to be managed carefully. We’ll probably see him return in one of the cup matches

Teryima Adi

He’s hibernating- it’s winter.

C.B.

Come on you reds!!! Let’s have our 37 year old manager beat their 72 year old.

Fireman Sam

Hey, no ageism mate! Some of us are getting on a bit 🙂

Teryima Adi

Lol

Right across Sunderland!

Sadly, ageism seems to have become an acceptable form of abuse in recent years. If we had a manager who won the league for us, I wouldn’t care if he was 90.

C.B.

I’d still want our 72 year old manager beat their 37 year old. You sure you aren’t getting woke?

Right across Sunderland!

What are you on about?

Right across Sunderland!

Let’s have it right. If somebody posted ‘I hope our white manager beats their black manager’, people (quite rightly) would have a go at them. However, it’s acceptable for many when you use age as the pejorative. That’s my point. I’d be interested to know how it’s any different. But hey, I suppose I’m just ‘woke’ for pointing it out, eh?

Anyway, enough of my life wasted on you already.

C.B.

Woke means over sensitive. https://twitter.com/bbccomedy/status/1010189882503950336?s=19 is worth you watching.

Incidentally I’m closer to Roy’s age than Mikel’s.

Jahster

Yeah, and then our lads beat theirs in the game of footy)

sam

Arteta is 3 years older than me and i look up at him like he’s my dad haha its all very weird this time and space malarky

Kostas

I am 34 and I have multiple UCL s already as Arsenal manager at Football Manager :p

#ArtetaFun

Duno

Thought he’s 73. ?

Theenge

He’s 72 until he turns 73, but for now he remains 72 because that’s how things work

Alims

Hahaha

PartyParlour

It’s so nice to be able to trust the manager again. The sort of line ups we should have had over the last 18 months

sam

thinking of the lineups we’ve deployed and the substitutions we have made under Emery….wow lol

K-Gooner

With proper rest and training, this match is going to be a lot of attack I feel! COYG

Gudang Bedil

Arteta bringing the big guns up top. Exciting!

podgygooner

Xhaka: a red card waiting to happen.

StockholmGooner

That one negative out of place comment. No need for it. Xhaka has been brilliant under Freddie and arteta and will continue to be brilliant.

Rich

Hopefully Arteta’s told Pepe to have a pop at Reidewald at every opportunity.

We’ll need to be much better than we were in the first half against Leeds, but if we get the basics right? Then I think we can bag a few goals today.

ArsenesLongSufferingZipper

Hope he’s also told him to release the ball reasonably early when he has possession. “Reasonably early” like in NOT waiting to beat everyone twice and then give away possession.

Thierry Bergkamp (non negotiable)

10 v 11. Surely 3 points here

frank csermak

good chance for three points today because it seems we only play against ten men 😉

Right across Sunderland!

Good line up. Fare I say, I seems almost ‘settled’. I’m hoping to see Martinelli figure at some point too. What a player we’ve found there. £6m? Biggest bargain since Cesc and Anelka.

Right across Sunderland!

‘Dare I say’ ffs. For some reason I’m in moderation all of a sudden 🙁

Teryima Adi

Let’s boss that midfield and win the game. COYG!

The Voice of the Noise

That Palace bench looks horrible. They are really feeling that injury crisis.
We know how that feels though, so they won’t get much sympathy from me. Let’s get the three points and continue our great 2020 form! COYG

Jean Ralphio

If we win here. It’s our clearest sign yet that we’ve turned a corner. COYG!

loose_cannon

D’oh!

Rick_Sanchez

What is happening? We lack some serious creativity and cohesion. I think we were quite solid in defense, but offensively just lame. It seems as the problem starts with our central defenders and their inability to play safe and opening passes.

R_C

This team is so frustrating to watch.

laudgunner

Good draw at least. Nketiah stays until last day of the window.

Tribe

Its an away point with 10 men. Its not a disaster, the boys are giving their all. Dont be ruthless. We didnt gave up, even with 10 men we had chances.
