Arsenal Youth preview – U21s face Leicester

After making a terrible start to 2023 with a 6-0 loss away to Manchester City, Arsenal U21s will be determined to respond when they host their Leicester City counterparts at Meadow Park tomorrow night.

Arsenal gave a good account of themselves in the first half of the season and were unbeaten in the league going into the game against City.

However, the young Gunners were outclassed by a hugely impressive City side and made several defensive errors, which didn’t help their cause.

Arsenal will be determined to show that they are still capable of winning the Premier League 2 title this season and the game against Leicester represents the perfect opportunity to bounce back.

Leicester have gone eight games without a win in all competitions and were beaten 2-0 by Chelsea earlier this week, so Arsenal will feel hopeful of taking all three points.

Nathan Butler-Oyedeji has been on the bench for the first-team on two occasions recently and if he features for the U21s tomorrow then the striker could have a big part to play, especially with Khayon Edwards still out injured.

Ali has an abundance of options to choose from in midfield and Catalin Cirjan will be hoping to be restored to the starting lineup.

In defence Zane Monlouis will look to start as Ali aims to add greater solidity to the side.
