Last week, we reported that Arsenal are planning to travel to Los Angeles as part of the preparations for the 2023/24 season.
According to The Athletic, the Gunners will also head to Washington DC where they will take on an MLS All-Star XI.
The match is scheduled to take place on 19 July at Audi Field and our opponent will be managed by ex-Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney who coaches D.C United.

It’s not the first time the Gunners have visited the US capital. Unai Emery’s squad lost on penalties to Real Madrid at FedEx Field in July 2019.
We’ve also played against an All-Star outfit before with Arsene Wenger leading a team to a 2-1 victory in 2016. On that occasion, the goals were scored by Joel ‘get out while you can’ Campbell and Chuba ‘all guns blazing at Middlesbrough’ Akpom.
As things stand, we don’t know the details of other opponents but we’re guessing there could be as many as four games in total.
Soudns good for our US friends to see their team plus a chance for Mikel to get a few players on the pitch and get them warmed up for our title defence…
…hopefully…
YES. Huge fanbase here in DC. They’ll receive a warm welcome
Strange decision. Stadium is quite small, maybe 20K capacity. I would think they would look for a bigger venue. Nice place to watch a game cause it is cozy.
Not that strange. It’s where the MLS All-Star game is.
If you wanted capacity FedEx Field nearby would be bigger, but it’s a crap stadium
FedEx Field…no thanks. That ground is infamous for blowing out Achilles.
The Washington Post ‘Arsenalmania.’ Screaming fainting American teen girls had to be forcibly held back today by US cops as Mikel Arteta, Martin Odegaard, Bukayo Saka, Gabriel ‘Gabby’ Martinelli, Benny ‘Blanco’ White, Granit Xhaka and Aaron Ramsdale were among those mobbed when disembarking from their flight. The fresh faced lads with cheeky grins and wild celebrations, caused mayhem as their tour of the United States began. As a smiling Rob Holding was ushered into the waiting coach, one cop was heard to mutter “Boy, could he use a haircut.” ‘The Arsenal’ are set to take Washington by storm with their… Read more »
