High tempo pleases Ramsey and Arteta

Aaron Ramsey believes Arsenal have overcome the mental block that dictated that they only started games in the second half having conceded a couple of stupid goals.

Citing the fact that the Gunners have scored first and pushed on for the win in their last three games, the Welshman, using the boss’ idiosyncratic car-related vernacular, underlined that the squad are currently playing with freedom and energy.

“In the past, we’ve been accused of starting slowly and I think that’s something we’ve changed, especially in the last month,” he told Arsenal Player after Saturday’s 4-1 win over Reading.

“We’ve started off on the front foot, defended high up the pitch and won the ball back in dangerous areas. We did that plenty of times [against Reading].

“On another day, we could have had a few more early on. It was a great performance. It was enjoyable out there.

“I think you could see that we played without any hesitation and with the handbrake off. We created a lot of opportunities and we defended well apart from the goal we conceded. On the whole, we’re delighted with the win.”

Similarly buoyed by the current status quo, Mikel Arteta also spoke positively about the manner in which the Gunners started against the Royals.

“We had a really high tempo right from the start. I think we had a lot of good combinations around the box. We looked lively. In the first half, we could have killed the game. After the third goal, I think the game was over.”

With the Gunners second only to Manchester United in the form table for the last six games, Arteta also highlighted his belief that Arsene Wenger’s squad are well placed for a strong finish to the season.

“We’re on a very good run in the Premier League. We have to keep going. We know that we’re depending on other results, so let’s see what happens.”

“Highly orgasmic football pleases Ramsey and arteta”

Extremely impressed with Ramsey in the last one month.. The gunners seemed to have found some extra zip in the midfield with Rosicky and him at the helm.. Squad fatigue? Nah, we’re peaking at the right time- the business end of the season. Onwards and upwards..

kevrlee

COYG! just gotta make sure they keep this momentum going and eveready to give 101% on the pitch.

Matkafee

Funny you ask Mikel, sp*ds choked and ended up 5th. Chavs nipped 4th thanks to their win over the sp*ds. Arsenal finished third riding the form of Gervinho who scored 10 goals in the last 10 games of the season.

Herold goon

Also noticed Ramsey has started to embrace those traditional “unlike ramsey” forward passes.
I am a believer now I see him staking a claim on the starting xi for years to come, exchanging crisp passes with Jack Wilshere and Isco (who we will have purchased) as they take each and every game by the scruff of its neck all the way to the league double. (The premier btw will be stoke free, a virus will have choked down the entire stoke generation. Your welcome)

RW

Am I not right in saying that Arsenal are actually not dependent on other results? If we win all our games we finish top-four.

Bonjour

Yep you’re right. Chelsea and spurs play each other so they can go do a 0-0 with 4 injuries and 5 red cards

goonero

Sadly you’re wrong. At least the first part is. We need the spuds or the chavs ( preferably both so we can finish third ) to drop points for us to finish in the top four. But that much is inevitable ( they play each other this month ) so you are right in saying if we win all our games we finish top four.
On the other hand, one slip up and its a different picture, everton are only two points behind us so overconfidence isn’t something we can afford right now.

GoonerDownUnda

Technically, Sp*ds are 4 points ahead of us, but we have a game in hand. If they draw or lose to Chelsheat are we win all our games, there’s the top 4 finish.

Preferrably the Chavs can lose a game and give us 3rd spot while drawing with Sp*ds.

Jamie

Yeah I think if the chavs and the spuds win all of their games as well as us, it comes down to whoever won between them both finishing 3rd with arsenal finishing fourth.

Burak

Is that right? I think you might be… we’ve played 30 games (same as Chelsea, and one less than Spurs), and we’re 2 points behind Chelsea and 4 points behind Spurs at the moment. If all three teams won out (which isn’t possible since the other two play each other), it would be mathematically possible for us to remain in 5th. If you take 3 points away from the loser of the Chelsea-Spurs game, then yes, you’d be right. If you take 2 points away from each in the case of a draw, then we’d be even on points with… Read more »

bobby

calculations are a tad off as spurs have one less game to play.

We win all our games we’re top 4

Norn Iron Gooner

Mathmaticians are sadly a premium on this site today it seems (on fools day as well, what coincidence..)

Chavs are 2 points ahead, sp*rs are 1 point ahead. Now, assuming we win our last games, including our game in hand over the unwashed, we’ll finish top 4 due to the fact the two horrible pack of cunts have to play each other, with either 1 getting 3 points and the other 0, or both getting 1 point each.

Ok? Good, apologies for the wall of text, China’s on the phone asking me for it back.

Burak

Facepalm

Norn Iron Gooner is, of course, very right

A N Other

Yes but it’s easier said than done.. We were flying at the backend of last season and then lost vital points at QPR.

Anyway, I highly doubt chelsea will end up higher than us given they have to play city, united, Everton and ofcourse spurs and in between they have Europa league and fa cup.

Runcorn Gooner

Will Manure need to be as focused as usual when we play them? I doubt it.We play well,we will win.The rest of the matches
are winnable anyway as long as we play to our potential.Forecast 3rd place

Next season is ours for the taking, if we stick together… Now let’s embarrass Man U and show the a glimpse of what’s to come next season. COYG!

I don’t care, just bring me back asap!

Arsene Wenger

Bring your rather attractive friends FA and Big-ears with you.

lets just see if we can do this consistenly before we start praising

Benis

Carl Jenkinson is the key to this form.

arsenal south africa

One game at a time.. That is all.. Not looking at the fixtures list.. Jst 1 game at a time.. Whatever happens happens.. All we can do is focus on our games.. Chelski are going to fatigue.. Too much matches.. So are spuds.. We only have league games.. That should help.. COYG!!!!!

davo57

Congratulations to Chelsea on making it to the FA cup semis and a visit to Wembly something Arsenal fans can only dream about. We had our chance to make two Wembly appearances but were humiliated by 2nd tier Blackburn
and fourth tier Bradford.

Mate Kiddleton

Congratulations to you, for being a cunt

Dr Baptiste

When they’re 5th and not in the CL, do you think Abramovich will console himself while holding the FA cup? I doubt it. If the FA Cup was the height of his need, I’m sure he wouldn’t have spent close to a billion on that team.

davio57

In the last eight years Chelsea has won three Premier leagues four FA cups, A European Champions league, a couple of League cups and Community shields. Arsenal has won the Wenger trophy and beaten Barnett .

Benis

Not to mention some Emirates Cups

Dr Baptiste

How about over the last 125 years, you know before the PL and Sky. As in, a clubs history that shows we’re better than Chelsea and it’s only a billionaires money thats made them successful. 8 years is nothing when you consider the 70’s and 80’s.

Rufusstan

Aaaand in the previous 50 years, Chelsea have won 3 FA cups, 2 UEFA cups and a League cup, while getting relegated twice. In the same period we have won Six titles (winning Two of them at the dump up the road), Seven FA Cups (including 3 doubles), a Couple of League cups, a bunch of Charity shields and two trophies in Europe. Go back over 50 years and the only win Chelsea can add is a single title, while we add in the other half of ours. Throw a £Billion or so at just about any team and they… Read more »

I love Arsenal! Rams and Arteta were brilliant against Reading!

wengersauce

Totally off topic, but where does everyone stand on the wenger out thing? Regardless of how we finish and the whole ‘judge me at the end’, isn’t enough enough?

Donut Maestro

I believe you are on the wrong website. Go to http://www.livingunderthebridge.com. We are all sensible people and true fans of the Gunners here.

GoonerDownUnda

Honestly, There is no manager out there that i would prefer than Wenger. If Wenger were to retire however, i would have to make my preference on stealing Everton’s David Moyes. Tested at BPL Level and has done so well with an Everton team who have one of the smallest budgets for a top of the table side. To help, he has worked with Arteta before which means he will have someone to help him along the way. Outside of that, i don’t see anyone else i really like in terms of a managerial position at Arsenal. There’s the old… Read more »

… suddenly this end of season is bringing the best of the team and a lot of joy and suspense to all of us … Go gunners!

Erwandy

Through thick and thin, this current team is the one I am most fond of, after the Invincibles era. Wenger will do it again, I know he will. We just need to keep the team intact through the upcoming seasons.

COYG!

Pete

There is a good bunch there.

You get the feeling Jack, Gibbs, Szcz, Jenks, TV5, Ox, Kos, Ramsey would do anything for the Arsenal.

Andrew

Does nobody realise (including Arteta) wer not reliant on anyone elses results. Win all our games n we finish in the top four. Simple as. Its not possible for chelsea n spurs t win ALL ther remaining games seeing as they play each other. We win our remaining games, we finish in top four regardless

Pete

If Arsenal and Everton win their games then I think they can get 3rd and 4th.

Arsene Wenger

I’d like that. I don’t mind the Toffees.

Rufusstan

Yep, been my ideal scenario for a while now.

53 + 24 = 77pts = 3rd place

Agreed, think a lot of us Arsenal fans view Everton as a ‘mini-Arsenal’ (no disrespect) because of similarities in financial restrictions, style-of-play, and down-to-earth attitude of the manager and the players.

Wouldn’t mind Fellaini coming to the Emirates in the summer though!

HitsMan

Perfect scenario.

3) Arsenal
4) Everton
5) Fulham-QPR

Steven Abifarin

I love Ramsey. His combination with wilshere and isco in our midfield will make a lot of sense. For now, I prefer his combination with Rosicky and Wilshere. Gunners till i quench!!
