Who gives a fuck really

Smeer Na$ri (with shit)

clearly not you.

Good luck to them, a win and a half decent performance in any competition would go down well with many of us I think. I’d take a Carling Cup run and getting some more experience for the youth at this point.

Craig

I’d rather see us send the youngsters out and get through a few rounds then lose in the cup final again

Chordios

Wasn’t the Spurs score 4-2 last season?

Chordios

My mistake, 4-1

Ben Savage

Would like to see him try a 4-4-2 tonight, with Chamakh and Park up top and AOC and Ryo on the wings. Particuarly looking forward to seeing the latter tonight because I thought he done very well in pre-season.

Jonni G

Yep that’s how I’d like to see it, wouldn’t mind santos startin ahead of Gibbs too for more eperience.

Dave Gooner

Djourou…oh no….please let him be ‘rested’…

eleanor

I’d expect a different lineup if it were Spuds away like last year. But Shrewsbury at the Emirates is a bit different. Still out of this I’d expect something more like: Fabianski, Jenkinson, Djourou, Miquel, Gibbs, Frimpong, Coquelin, Benayoun, Park, AOC, Chamakh … Rather than: Martinez, Jenkinson, Boateng, Miquel, Gibbs, AOC, Ozyakup, Yennaris, Ryo, Aneke, Sanchez-Watt. All I can say is whoever puts on those shirts better be up for a game because Shrewsbury will be no pushover. What’s more is that not winning won’t be as stoically-received as it might have been in the past. In fact it’s already… Read more »

[…] on the Carling Cup, Arsene has still chosen to place some faith in our current youngsters. The squad list shows numerous youngsters, alongside with some experience players like Chamakh and Djourou. Arsene has hinted that Park Chu […]

I rather see the younger players tonight. Am sure they’ll put a smile to our faces because our senior team are not making us smile at all at the moment. Looking forward to see AOC and Ryo!

Alf

Half expected to see Almunia in the squad tonight. I assume we are still paying him so this would be a chance to get some work out of him..
My guess would be:

Martinez Jenkinson Boateng Miquel Gibbs Frimpong Benayoun Coquelin AOC Ju Ryo

RDB

I thought we might see a stronger team tonight. We need wins and a defeat tonight will just add fuel to an already blazing fire

RDB

I still expect a win tho

Looking forward to seeing some of the younger guys (ha!) getting a run out in a sensible environment. Would be great to see the Ox bang a couple in after what must have been an harrowing debut @ OT.

It’s a bit lazy that the club can’t be bothered to man the box office when not all tickets are sold though.. Disappointing, if not surprising.

COYG!

Gooner-Dan

Wenger’s a brave man…

Also where are Almunia and Squillaci?? Surely it’s worth playing them just so that other teams know they still exist and therefore take them off our hands in Janurary?

stephen

Looking forward to seeing the Korean captain start his career with a hat-trick.

Trevor

If they can’t beat Shrewsbury Town, not sure what I’ll do!

d-holio

I like this kids and fringe players only policy for this tournament. This is the way it’s always been and this is the way it always should be in regards to this competition. Remember the kids made it to the final a few years back and lost to a stacked Chelsea team. Despite the loss, that Cup run was 10 times more enjoyable than last season’s because of the youth content! Go Arse Kids and fringees!!

Not happy

We should be playing our strongest team. A team low on confidence who haven’t played much together should not be ‘rested’ 3 weeks into the bloody season!. Why am I the only person who can see this?!
