Another youngster has left the club on deadline day for a lower division loan move.
Following Gedion Zelalem, Chuba Akpom, Kaylen Hinds and Ismael Bennacer out the door is exciting forward Stephy Mavididi who has joined League One Charlton until the end of the current campaign.
The 18 year old can play wide or as a striker, and Charlton boss Karl Robinson said of his capture, “Stephy is someone that I’ve seen a few times in the U23 Premier League and he has certainly got the key components to succeed in what I call ‘real’ football.
“He has the power, the game intelligence and this move is one that he has to grab with both hands.
“They speak highly of him in the Arsenal youth set-up and he will give us something different to Lee Novak, Tony Watt and Josh Magennis.
“Stephy is a real talent and I’m sure Charlton will be a real home for him in the short term.”
Like all the others, good luck to him between now and the end of the season.
C’mon Charlton, work your magic 😉
If he can return from Charlton with half the impact that a certain central midfielder did, then this is an excellent move.
Is there anyone left on the U23 team now?
