Arsenal have taken Omani international, Saad Suhail, on a week’s trial. The 24 year old defender has 25 caps with Oman and the move was confirmed by Wigan goalkeeper Ali Al-Habsi.
He wrote on his Twitter account, “Wishing the best of luck to my Omani bro Saad Suhail who went to London today and will be in Arsenal for a week trial.”
Earlier, Arsene Wenger spoke about his search for a short-term defender in the wake of so many full back injuries, and he hinted that all kinds of options were being looked at.
Speaking to the official site Wenger said, “All over the world we have our eyes and we look for good players.
“It is very simple in a situation like that. You might take a player who doesn’t play at all somewhere, who is not necessarily fit quicker than a player who is injured. Or you take a young, potential player who has not made it somewhere.
“A player who plays anywhere in the world at the moment will not be available on loan, it doesn’t exist. It can only be a guy who doesn’t play or a promising player who has not yet made it completely who you could take advantage of.”
It should also be pointed out that Arsenal trial a lot of players throughout each season, most of them are carried out without any kind of profile whatsoever, so the likelihood of a deal for Suahail is slim, unless, of course, the player impresses greatly during his week at the club.
Time will tell.
Is the players that Wenger talk about were Wayne Bridge and Luke Shaw? It seems searching for a fullback that can be loaned is like searching for a needle in a haystack.
Paul Le Guen Oman manager recommended him to Wenger he must be pretty good.

But, why is the news 2 Weeks late? he had two days trial with us at the start of the year after the Fulham game. If the boss did not sign him by now, it means he is sent backing and not good enough.
