The 18-year-old midfielder, who made his Gunners debut in the Europa League against BATE Borisov earlier this season, has already been pictured sporting Barcelona training gear ahead of his medical.

Arsenal have now confirmed the deal.

McGuane graduated from Hale End and has been a regular in Arsenal’s Premier League 2 squad this term.

While the Gunners have been trying to persuade him to commit his long-term future to the club, it looks as though he’s decided to chance his arm in Spain having attracted interest from a number of clubs.

He will come back, when he’s top top quality, since he has Arsenal- DNA

Lord Bendnter

I have my jersey on hand. As soon as you want me to throw it on him, give me the signal

Twisted cuntloks

He obviously thinks wengers philosophy is not quite up to the Barca version…
I expect him to now become a world class star.

SizC

6months left on a contract….that sounds familiar!!!

Baolo Paldini

Woah! Who, how, which position?

Harish P

DM. I think Wenger said he could see him playing FB, WB, and CM or along those lines.

Musah

He is fit to be played at any position in Barcelona

TR7

Can’t wait til he’s on the cusp of being world class! We can tap him up with his ARSENAL DNA!

Vescucci

Wow. The tables have turned. We’ll get him back in 5 years talking about his Arsenal DNA

Akkimaniac

Can’t even keep the kids now

Jame5

They finally took one the other way. Damn. Oh well, good luck getting a chance in the Barcelona team. When was the last time they actually had a youth player break through into the first team regularly?

For their famed academy they certainly don’t produce them like they used to. Has the air of class of 92’ about them. One Golden Group and then finding its a lot harder to replicate that success regularly and bring them through to the first team.

Good luck to him though, hopefully he has Arsenal DNA…

Northern Gooner

are you joking???

James

No, who was the last regular academy product who plays regularly for them? Messi is 30.

This team isn’t littered with academy products like it used to be.

emob

You mean like Jordi Alba, Sergi Roberto, Denis Suarez, Gerald Pique?

Viva la prof

Spain it’s a nice place to visit, but I wouldn’t want to live there !

Gooner McGoonFace

Spoken like someone who, unfortunately for them, has never been to Spain.

Maniac

Sun, sangria, chicas muy calientes. What’s not to like?

Double98

Yeah all that sun and relaxed lifestyle, pretty girls, culture and sporting greatness.. who would want that when you can live in a semi d in surbiton

WellArsed

We seem to be losing a lot of our academy talents. I really hope the club sorts out its contract process soon.

Double98

He’ll Kill Messi

ClockEndRider

If they think they’re getting a Fabregas I think they may be somewhat disappointed.

Thaigoon

they did get a fabregas though

Bai Blagoi

Good luck, Marcus!

Media Hates Arsenal

He doesn’t matter.

KingKolo

What a sad person football has made you.

Gallas\'s Penis

He’ll be back. If you cut him he bleeds red #ArsenalDNA

Jonno

Another player in the last months of a contract. This is a systematic failling of our club. What to they do all bloody day.

Andy Mack

It’s happening at most clubs, not just us.
Although we have had the 2 headline names in Sanchez and Ozil.

Faisal Narrage

I guess RvP, Nasri, Chesney, Ox and even Jack and Ozil are just figments of my imagination, let alone academy players like Willock and Gnabry.

Andy Mack

No, but we’re not the only club.
Yanited and Liverpoo both have a number of senior players in the last 6 months of their contracts.
All of the teams above us in the league have youth players with only 6 months on their contract.

Godfrey Twatsloch

Hope we made a profit on him.

Gonzo gunner

Looks like they were playing the long game after Fabregas and then Bellerin.

DialSquareGoon

Wasnt part of the fab 7 the official site were bigging up just a fre days ago?!

Chy-Kogo Gooner

Did we offer him a new contract and he rejected? If he’s good enough to catch the Catalan eye, why aren’t we trying to hold on to him?

Andy Mack

It’s Barca B team which is a bit like saying he’s gone to Peterborough united but with much nicer weather.

DarylC

Yeah, its a bit like that, apart from not being like that at all.

Joe Bloggs

sinking ships and all that…..

shokim

All the best to you Marcus.
