Torreira as CAM?

Runzac

Mustafi!! 2-2 again

SheffieldGooner

He’s not there?

Swifty

He’ll still manage to eff it up for us somehow… COYG!

Runzac

Sorry, my app showed fake news. 2-1 then

Tim

Expect more from Willock and Laca today…

HelderHughes

Let’s hope Brighton are Lacatose intolerant.

Haha. Ha. Hahaha. Ha. Ha. God I’m lonely.

AmericanGooner

I hope so. Love the optimism. Willock was short of the mark this past match. Not sure why you wouldn’t give Pepe a go over him.

Rich

Joe Willock is 20, let’s not go writing off young players this early in their careers, we need to support our youngsters and give them room to grow.

Willock’s a great young player.

Hiiiii guys

In that case why don’t we just play the reserves since most of them are young. No Willock is not good enough for my Arsenal actually he’s horrendous

HelderHughes

Mate, can I get your name and address? Because I want to send you a massive blown up life size copy of this comment in about 3 seasons when Willock is running our team.

Naked Cygan

Helder, can you name 3 premier league games that willock was above average or maybe made a difference? Or 2…..

HelderHughes

No but I can’t do that for any player apart from Auba and Leno.

Naked Cygan

Totally agree. Willock is not good enough to start yet. He has talent and a bright future, but he is too raw and soft for me. Same with Nelson, they are good for cup games, not the league.

AmericanGooner

I’m certainly not writing Willock off. He has incredible promise – maybe more than any of our academy prospects. I’m just saying that he was short of the mark the last match. I’d like him coming off the bench and Pepe starting this match.

Leon

Willock has the ability to be a great player but the trouble is Arsenal are playing with absolutely zero confidence partly because of the shambles that has been the Arsenal management this season and partly because some players i.e. Sokratis, Luiz, Xhaka and Mustafi have been absolutely horrendous. You will never sell any of those donkeys (possibly Xhaka) so why not just cut your losses and release them – that won’t happen of course but it does nothing to improve morale having to rely on them…

Hiiiii guys

Like I said that willock is terrible. Get Pepe on and put Ozil Attacking midfield. 45 minute he just losers the ball AGAIN!!! Get rid of this manager. He’s lost his legendary status.

Hiiiii guys

Willock has the lost the ball more times then he’s kept possesion I’ve been watching it the last 30 mins or so. He lost the ball and sat on the floor what an embarrassment he better get subbed off at half time. He’s keeping Pepe and Martinelli off for this joker called Willock Freddie needs to go aswell I hope new manager bring in new backroom staff.

HelderHughes

Mate, aim your abuse at the senior players if you feel so inclined to throw shit around. You’re exactly the sort of hysterical clucking chicken that belongs on aftv.

Trigg27

Even without Mustafi we know that our defence is going to struggle again today.

It’ll be interesting to see if Torreira actually plays as a DM tonight, or if we’re supposed to rely on Xhaka doing that job

Glen Helders left foot

No Tierney or Pepe, Xhaka still running the show…oh Freddie I hope you are right but don’t like the look of your selection again

ricky rick

I honestly don’t think Tierney has been that much better than Kolasinac defensively. Much as we’d hoped. Can see a Willock goal tonight! COYG

Andre Santos' car keys

I think Kola has raised his game a bit? Maybe I’m not paying close enough attention but I watch him anticipating listless play and janked crosses and he “disappoints” in that respect. Was alright last time out.

AussieGooner

But going forward he has been outstanding. Hr crosses better than anyone we have.

It is nuts not to play him. A really dumb decision in my opinion, he makes us better going forward.

Rich

Tierney looks a class act both on and off the pitch. But he had giant red triangles all over him. His injury record is atrocious, he’s had a recent double hernia operation, and problems with his hips for a while. It could take us some time to realign his body, which is common after problems in the pelvic and hip areas. bob

I thought it looked good. No Mustafi. Could be 4 diamond 2 with Torreira holding with Xhaka and Joe in the middle and Ozil attacking behind a duo of Auba and Laca. Honestly I think that’s a pretty decent shout. Would be nice if Tierney played instead of Kola, but he wasn’t bad last game and maybe Tierney has a niggle.

Instead of shitting all over the selection, how about reserving judgement until a football is actually kicked.

Glen Helders left foot

Well the football has been kicked and we were an absolute shambles, hard to believe Freddie could of made us worse… but he has

CLEGooner

Is Tierney injured or what?

Olivije Žirod

Well, even if he is not Kolasinac deserves to start after his performance against Norwich. Definitely our best outifield player on Sunday (Ok, Auba scored two but he wasn’t particulary good).

Jay

A team that can’t defend, picking a left back, who has no idea where his own defence is supposed to play, is,not great

Paul Roberts

He’s on the bench so no.

Paul Roberts

I bet Tierney’s not happy?

Rob

He’s in tiers

Man Manny

I am okay with the line up,, although I would have wanted Tierney ahead of Kola and Pepe ahead of Laca..
I hope we win tonight.
COYG!

Frank

Disappointed not to see Pepe or Tierney, not sure what’s going on there, would like to have seen chambers tried out at CB too. Also dont like that Xhaka is back as a permanent fixture but I suppose there’s not many other options. Nonetheless very excited about tonight, hoping for a good performance and result

Goonerink

chambers and luiz are options…

Make Arsenal Great Again

I’m beginning to be concerned about Holding. Is he the answer long term. I’m a huge fan of his and I want him to play his way into form

Richie

He’s injured, nothing serious.

CLEGooner

Real “nothing serious”, or Arsenal “nothing serious” (i.e., season ending)?

Olave

He’s injured again at the moment

Thierry Bergkamp

Holding in training must be terrible if he still can’t get in ahead of either of those two

Trigg27

Isn’t Holding still out injured?

Ya gooner

Maybe he’s wary of making too many changes too soon?

Glenn Gomes

Will be really interesting to see how the fans receive Xhaka…. Everything said and done I hope we move on, not that Xhaka for his outbursts and a certain section of uncouth fans can be atoned for…. COYG!!

Patty knight

After all those performances and results this season and seeing the starting lineup you are still this deluded?who bewitched you?

Fatgooner

That defence brings me out in a cold sweat.

Paul Roberts

Very few options mate?

Grumbleduke

Anyone know what’s happened to rob holding?
Going for 4 nil to us tonight. COYG!

Patty knight

After all those performances and results this season and seeing the starting lineup you are still this deluded?who bewitched you?

Grumbleduke

The spirits have spoken to me. Jack Daniels mainly

Richie

I agree I also think we’ll win 4-0.

Paul Roberts

My female spirit named “Stella” says we are going to obliterate the opposition. 🙂

Paul Roberts

She is a sweet charming mysterious girl…I trust her…:-)

Grumbleduke

More spirits required now. Feel sorry for Leno.

Mondaylee

Someone should please search Ljungberg’s locker. It seems Emery left some weed for him.

Rosapirescastle

Was hoping to see chambers at CB and Torreira in CDM. Get a bit of zip in our passes going forward and accuracy too.

Looking forward to it cause it’s Freddie but honestly if emery had that lineup I’d be well pissed off.

Hope Pepe can make an impact as teams are pushing up on Auba and we’re becoming predictable in trying to feed him.
Pepe gives a different dynamic.

Lanre

Freddie has resorted back to the same team that lost us 4th place and the UEFA cup final. Let’s just pretend the summer transfers never happened right?

Hiiiii guys

He’s Emery in disguise.

Patty knight

Too early for Freddy out?

Hiiiii guys

No I want him gone now. He’s Wmery in disguise. He’s no legend.

Mark

Why are Xhaka and Kolasinic starting?

Paul Roberts

Because the manager says so….now stop complaining. 🙂

Hiiiii guys

James Ingram: Willock starts= awful Arsenal, Willock benched = much better Arsenal 12 starts no goals no assists.

Dom47

Wtf??? No Pepe, Tierney, arrogant xhaka in the team… willock is way off pace and looked like a complacent kid in the last game… Holding and chambers surely deserve a run together…

Losing faith in Freddie rapidly…

Richie

Xhaka is so arrogant that when he moved out of his parents house, he told his Dad “you’re the man of the house now”.

Pakgooner

Xhaka is so arrogant when his parents handed him the keys, he returned them by hanging them in the key box. He also think purple is blue

Dom47

Pak and richie, that’s hilarious :))

Billy Bob

Should be Leno (GK), Bellerin (RB), Chambers (CB), Luiz (CB), Tierney (LB), Torreira (DM) Willock (AM), Ozil (AM), Martinelli (LW), Pepe (RW) & Auba (S). Well that is what I would like to see

AussieGooner

I have to say this doesn’t not exited me. I really hope Freddie knows what he is doing.

It does feel weird, Emery is gone but nothing seems to have changed, it is still the same team Emery would have picked.

We have to win by at least two goals, otherwise what was the point of sacking Emery?

Olivije Žirod

I didn’t know that the point of Emery sacking was to start the player you want.

AussieGooner

Maybe not, but surely it was supposed be the catalyst for change at least?

Olivije Žirod

Guendouzi is not playing. That is a big change and imo very important one.

AussieGooner

How’s that working for you?

Hiiiii guys

James Ingram: Willock starts= awful Arsenal, Willock benched = much better Arsenal 12 starts no goals no assists.

Patty knight

All those years spent with Emery must have given Freddie some emeritis

Public Elneny

What does Chambers have to do to get a start at CB?

Pakgooner

to have belle fit and for people to remember AMN exists.. guys been literally frozen out

chopper4001

What HAS happened to AMN? He had a couple of stinkers but no worse than anyone of the CBs… is he injured?

AussieGooner

The only thing keeping us out of the bottom half of the table is goal difference.

That is disgraceful.

COYG

St.macca

All looks a bit negative to me, not sure that Lacaze and Aubameyang will ever be the answer ton our goal scoring issues, Aubameyang isn’t that great as a winger but is forced out there to accommodate Lacazette.
Would have loved to have seen a fresh approach at this point with Aubameyang up front where he is world class, supported by Martinelli and Pepe. Kolasinac for Tierney just seem odd to me.

AussieGooner

I would love to see Auba and Pepe as a front two with Lacca behind them.

Venga Bus

Does the Announcer chap get on anyone else’s nerves or is it just me?

Tierney must be really shit at training.

Tony Hall

2 games in and already people questioning Freddy. Why anybody want to manage this club when the fan base is so impatient and toxic is beyond me …

Der32

Any fan can question the manager’s selection. Doesn’t make things toxic imo. Or maybe it’s just your agenda hiding behind your beard Hall…

Tony Hall

My agenda ? what the fuck are you on about ?

Tribe

I am asking myself that question every day mate. And I can’t even explain it to myself. As things stand I think there is no manager on this planet that can make a miracule in such a short period of time. It is by far evident that the team plays better then under Emery. But, there it is, some folks want to win a title in two games…

Henry_Tudor

We have not won in 8 games, as much as you want to give him the rest of your life to succeed we cannot afford it. There are obvious errors he made with the first lineup that backfired, and when you leave 72million on the bench you need to make sure what you have on the field does better, we have not seen anything better on the field. So it is natural to question. The fanbase is not what is making environment toxic, it is the rubbish foootball we are all watching.

Tony Hall

So you are expecting him to turn things round in 2 games after we have been getting progressively worse in the last 12 months? The players on the pitch are more than capable of winning these matches, they have to take some of the blame. It isn’t always the managers fault! And there is no communication barrier either.

Der32

It’s ok to say Freddie got some of his selections wrong and still support him. Playing Ozil in the wings is questionable and rarely works out. Pepe made the difference in the second half after coming on for Willock. I just don’t understand how easily you blame fans for being toxic. Can’t fans have an opinion without being toxic? They’re not always mutually exclusive you know.

Tony Hall

So the players are blameless then for losing another game by the sound of it.

Tribe

Der32 it is normally an imperative every fan to have an opinion but can we PLEASE separate defetism out of having an opinion? Sacking a manager after two games is insanity, not even a defetism. Okay, I’m all for it, but will we ask for sacking the manager after he fails to win the league in 2-3 games? Ok, I understand the sentiment. Here is my opinion, give Ljungberg a month or two, then decide what next. And that is an opinion, defetism is if I say, sack Freddie and get a new manager, if he doesnt win his first… Read more »

Henry_Tudor

Auba on the wing again tracking back and playing in crosses!!! What is this madness, why do we have wingers sitting on the bench and ozil is playing left wing. The sooner we get a competent coach the better, second game in a row where the lineup seems to raise eyebrows for obvious reasons, when will he do the obvious and set this team up to succeed. I can assure you auba will not be signing any contract if they plan on using him and ozil as wingers and willock as CAM. It don’t make no sense, its hard to… Read more »

Bergkamp2Wright

We are truly awful to watch

Ealing

Bring in Big Sam

Bergkamp2Wright

Every team we play is better than us. Unbelievable how bad we are.

Bergkamp2Wright

Relegation battle here we come.

Femi

Who do we blame now…?
