Arsenal Women have signed 21-year old England centre-half Lotte Wubben-Moy from the University of North Carolina. Wubben-Moy came through the Arsenal academy, making her debut at centre-half as a 16-year old. In 2017, she left for North Carolina on a scholarship which was due to finish in 2021. Lotte decided to cut her time at Chapel Hill short due to uncertainties with covid in the states.
Wubben-Moy was born in North London to a family of Arsenal fans, she will bolster the Gunners’ centre-half options with Jen Beattie suffering from a niggling back problem. Wubben-Moy had other suitors in the WSL but her Arsenal ties pulled her back to the Gunners, where she often trained between terms in North Carolina.
There truly is no place like home. North London. So proud and grateful to finally be an @ArsenalWFC player, again. ?⚪️ https://t.co/mYViX8gpJi

“I’m delighted to say that I’m officially a Gooner,” Wubben-Moy told Arsenal.com. “To see that this club can play at the highest levels, achieving the things that they do while also playing such exquisite football, that is definitely something that’s drawn me to the club. I just can’t wait to be a part of it.”
“I’m very happy we’ve got this one over the line,” said head coach Joe Montemurro. “Lotte is obviously a player that when I first came in was about to leave for the US. All credit to the club for keeping tabs on her development whilst she was away, and then obviously securing a player that is in and around the England camp. She will be a top player.”
Wubben-Moy is Arsenal’s fifth recruit of the summer after Noelle Maritz, Malin Gut, Steph Catley and Lydia Williams.

Welcome home Lotte!
Her name is an anagram of Tubby Mole Tow
Lovely video; she seemed genuinely happy to be back ‘home’.
Jeyy!!! I gave up on this happening, but it is a signing that makes too much sense not to make it. We were little light on CB with Beats injury worries and she is one of our own.
I think it was down to your constant badgering! Joe capitulated 🙂
Interesting that the future of the England national team central defence is Gunners Academy girls!
Well where is one more academy girl in the wide world. Wonder if I keep badgering about her too, will it make that happen? ?? #Anna #nextseasonthou
Welcome home Lotte. This is a great morale booster to all involved with the AWFC Academy. Finally, a home grown talent to keep Leah company in the squad and plugs a gap at CB particularly with Jen’s ongoing back complaint.
