I just have this nervous feeling that we will play them off the park but yet manage to lose by some sneaky goals or poor referring decision and Klopp will walk away with a feeling of getting away with it.

Right footed full back versus Salah.
Makes sense, Salah comes inside onto his left foot almost every time. I like it, tomiasyu too good a player to be on the bench. He was our best player 1st half of last season.
He plays on the left for Japan.
More LCB rather than LB for Japan I understood. In any case he is versatile and I top footballer. Fingers crossed I don’t regret my words but I have faith in him.
To be fair I’d have faith in KT also. We are blessed with good options right now. Long may it continue

Wow Tierney’s stock has really fallen big time! What has happened? He used to be our best player, now he is 3rd choice left back behind a CM and a RB

Yeah I feel for him tbh. I love Tomi to bits but KT is rarely if ever less than a 7.5
Easing him back in after a long time out. I’m guessing they’re trying to keep going for the full season
He was maybe our best player but we have improved the entire squad since and the top spot is more densely populated than when KT came to us. He has well documented fitness issues and I think his lack of game time is more related to that than where he may be in the pecking order. He’s still a really good player and has a given place in this team.

Don’t think so, just a tactical tweak, arteta wants a left back that can invert into midfield just as zinchenko does, and I think with tomiyasus experience as a midfielder in the past, that’s why he got the nod, Tierney more of a traditional left back, but football has evolved, look at cancelo at City, u’d understand why

tomi is a very accomplished defender, more so than kt I think. not that kt is bad. but anyway, maybe kt is not 100% or something. it is a surprise for sure.
To be honest, I am not comfortable with the line up.

KT on the bench for fitness reasons. If he starts he probably goes off injured, given the intensity of the match. Wouldn’t be surprised to see him come on at ‘60 or ‘70 minutes.
Hope this isn’t a sign that Tierney is carrying an injury. Also interesting to see pool lining up with 4 forwards in their XI. Maybe klopp wants to bypass the midfield and just play long ball counters and high pressing when we build up from the back. If he thought there would be any kind of midfield battle he surely would have played Fabinho, no?

I dont Understand Arteta game’s plan. Why bench KT a natural left back and using a right back. Before you know it players become unhappy and pushing for a move out. KT was among our best player last season. I dont like the way MA is treating him

Good line up for the most important game of the season so far and good to see Tomiyasu included after his performance in the EL. With a rampant City just behind and with Sp*rs close and also Chelsea not that far away, it’s a “must win” in my opinion. Being top (and remaining there particularly when the games are coming thick and fast) has to be the top priority. It was looking like the first half vs Sp*rs – Arsenal on top early, but the away side coming back as time went on – except we got our second goal “early” rather than waiting until the second half.
One slightly concerning point for me is the mistake by Gabriel for Liverpool’s goal though. I’m not sure where we’d be without Saliba to tidy up.
I think the mistakes have been racking up for Gabriel. Kinda hard to say after last season but he seems to be some sort of a weak link. Still very good, don’t get me wrong.
This game is far from over. But if we are really in it, we’re the better team. But they don’t need much to make us pay… COYG!
