Mikel Arteta has brought further disgrace on himself and Arsenal Football Club by winning the Premier League Manager of the Month award for November/December.
The Spaniard took time out from rolling his eyes at the FA to collect his trophy wearing a Richard Keys mask; a nice tip of the cap to the disgraced former Sky Sports presenter who is his biggest fan.
It’s the second time he’s secured the gong this season and the fourth time in total during his fledgling career in the dugout.
Arteta guided Arsenal to wins over Chelsea and Wolves prior to the World Cup and picked up where he left off in December with noteworthy victories over West Ham and Brighton. The Gunners have a five-point lead at the top of the table heading into Sunday’s north London derby.
Arteta was ably assisted by his captain, Martin Odegaard, who won the Player of the Month award after scoring three goals and making three assists in the aforementioned matches.
