Ramsey happy to do a job out right

After his 5th goal of the season secured a 1-0 win over Burnley, Aaron Ramsey admitted he prefers life in the centre of midfield but is happy to do a job on the right hand side.

After two assists from that position against Liverpool, his was on the only goal of the game at Turf Moor this evening, and responding to a question on Sky from Thierry Henry he said he’s glad to making an impact from a position which is not his most natural.

“I’m doing a job out there,” he said. “I like to be involved in the game a lot more in the middle but I’ve had to do a job there.

“I’ve had a couple of assists and a goal in the last couple of games, so I’m having an impact out there, but I’d like to be more involved in the game!”

Touching on the team’s performance overall, he said, “This was definitely tough. Lot of big teams have dropped points here, but it was another test we got through. We looked pretty solid, we dealt with their threats ever so well.

“I thought we controlled the game, maybe in the past guilty of trying to go forward and being punished. We defended well, but it was another win and another win away from home.”

And with so many players fit and available, Ramsey says it’s ensuring performance levels stay high (even if today wasn’t one of the games of the season).

“It’s been a long time since we’ve had the majorty of squad fit and healthy, so it’ll keep people on their toes.

“Were on a great run so it’s going to be difficult for people to get their places back.”

Not the best win but we still looked ever so comfortable. I am loving this new Arsenal. And Sanchez.

Zelalem

*ever so well, to remain in Aarons vocabular 😉

If Chelsea slip up in one of their two games before playing us and we them, then the title fight will go right to the last game, we may even be favourites!

They play their game in hand after the game against us so the potential to move within 1 point if they lose one of their next two and we beat them. Well still not sure we can catch them but a loss before the game against us makes it interesting.

Hi-brid

They play their game in hand while we are playing our FA Cup semi-final so when we play them we will have played the same number of games.

Hi-brid

Not so. They will need to slip up in both games in hand and then lose to us in order for us to move to within three or fewer points of them.

AnonymousGun

That would require a slipup of a greater proportion then Gerrard’s last year.

On the other hand, they have JT the cunt.. so dream on?

Me So Hornsey

Even if they beat QPR today but then they slip up against Man Utd and then we beat them, we’ll be 1 point behind them.

It’s not so far fetched.

Anonymous Physicist

That’s not right. Before we face them they play twice (today and next week) while we don’t play in the league at all (FA cup). We’re currently 4 points behind them. So to be one point behind after beating them, they’d have to lose twice.

I would say Rambo isn’t the most effective player out right, but definitely as efficient/effective (or more) than some of our options on the bench.

and that hair though…. top top quality

brucejuice

Yeah, only if welbeck would improve his first touches and control ball a little better!

WengersNoseHair

Dat pic. *Shivers*. Excuse me while I take a cold shower…

Where I come from, whenever Rambo scores we sing a song : tunaye Rambo, ooohhh Rambo, tunaye Rambo, Hamtampta! (we have Rambo, ooh Rambo, we’ve got Rambo and you can never have him!)

Juxta Position

Bippity Bippity Boppity boo, we’ve got Rambo, not you.

And when he doesn’t?

In Soviet Russia, Rambo has you

future captain.

Very interesting the bench selected was pretty much the same as last week’s match vs Liverpool with the exception of Chambers in for Gabriel (was he injured?) with none of the returning quartet even on the bench.

Arsenal's Legend

He just did it again….. well looking at my neighbours battling it out 2moro. can QPR pull a dramatic moments……who knows and the Manchester derby is another area that interest me. All I know is that cheski, manc and manure can not get all the 3points each.

GeeFive

Dammit Ramsey….I find myself yelling at you through the tv so much….and yet…..you pull off these maneuvers that end up as game winning plays….and then blogs posts “who’s next” pics like that, and the frustration melts away. Sigh.

‘Ever so well’ – Aaron Ramsey

Hahahah I was thinking exactly this!!

Stewart Robson's therapist

No one, regardless of gender or sexual orientation, can resist handsome Aaron in that photo.

“Hello Aaron. This is Thierry”.

Silence.

AnonymousGun

“And meet Dennis”.

Jackthelad

Ramsey has to start big games in the middle. He is our best player and Cazorla has done ok, but not his natural position.

#YOLO Toure

I’d probably say that because we’ve won 8 in a row in the league, Santi is doing alright there tbh.

MC

I think Ramsey is so important to the team, wherever he plays. Makes a big difference.

The other good thing is his nickname, Rambo. First blood (Rambo 1) is a classic, if you haven’t seen it, its a must. It’s a long road…….

DB10**

Mark of a good player. The likes of which Wenger raves about. i.e. the ability to adapt one’s game and make an impact regardless of where you are played.
Theo please note.

palace gunner

A win was needed a very smart goal from ramsey, as top four look peak gd to see arsenal fc holding second coyg.
