Arsenal beat Man Utd 2-0 at the Emirates today, and it was fun. We moved into the top four in a weekend when Sp*rs lost and Chelsea also dropped points.

Here are the post-game thoughts of James – and don’t forget to join us tomorrow for what’s sure to be a very enjoyable Arsecast Extra.

Well.Well. The glum looking face of the Norwegians tells its story.
MU fans say the penalty shd not have been given. The law states that
contact in the box merits apenalty. Lacazette was pushed . IT was a1 00 % sk.
I hope our gunners don’t go awol when they next play Wolves who
could have beaten Chelsea.

I’m all for soft penalties NOT to be given if the refs could be consistent with their calls, but we’ve been the victim of so many decisions against us from the likes of Kane, Son, Varty and co going down under similar or less contact than Fred made with Laca, that I didn’t for one second feel like it shouldn’t have been a penalty. The pundits calling it a soft penalty are just as inconsistent because how many times have we heard the old nugget of “he’s entitled to go down on that one”. And it’s not like Lacazette initiated the contact either. And finally, Lacazette was right to go down because that is what the refs have taught him…there have been two or three stone cold penalties that weren’t called earlier this season because he tried to stay on his feet, so he’s basically been told by the refs that he has to go down if he thinks it’s a penalty.
